Fixed penalty fine for littering

Stupid me got hit with a fixed penalty for littering this morning that I'll pay as soon as I get it and is issued by the local authority so not a criminal conviction.

Do i have to declare and will it show up on my CRB, the issuing council say it wont.

Better to declare everything to be on the safe side. They will dismiss it if it is something they don't care about (which probably they will).

Keep proof of payment and anything else issued to you in regards to the occurrence.  You may need it later.

Acro ( the criminal records guys) said for usa visa purposes youy only have to declare if on the PNC database. its hit and miss if littering goes on the PNC so I can pay £10 under a freedom of information request  n a couple of months and see if it its been added. If not then they reckon safe to not declare but if it is then I will. Not a criminal offence if paid instantly.

However, an immigration lawyer agreed with you all and said declare it as littering isnt an offence in the US.

Except when filing for immigration purposes, you will have to disclose it then whether it's considered a criminal offence or not, because it *is* a citation.

 

It would be better if you just disclosed it---it's so minor, and can easily be proven that it was taken care of by your receipt of the fine paid.  And won't make a difference to your case.

If you didn't disclose it because you didn't think it was worth it to, or because of what someone who does not work for immigration said....and then USCIS finds out about it, it can be cause for denial just because you purposefully didn't disclose it, no matter how minor it was.

 

Better to disclose it, no matter what "the criminal records guy" said---why take the chance on something so minor?
