I just checked the USCIS app and it says case is ready for interview.  What does that mean?  It means it was approved all the paperwork and now the interview is gonna be schedule soon?

How long does it take to receive any paper info about the date of the interview after this? :o

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what happens when you see this status? Does that mean that you can expect your interview to happen pretty quickly, like within a few weeks?? Or is this where the backlog hits and you get stuck on that status for months and months? I realize everything is different from one regional office to the next, but if anyone can fill in this blank for me, that would be great.

I think it can weeks or months from this point, as you say, depending on the backlog at your local office. It's just nice to see a new status, but I know it doesn't mean we'll necessarily get that interview in the near future. I think with this status, the interview can still be waived, too?

That's correct. Even with the 'Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview' status the interview can still be waived.
