Medical and readiness online completion

Hi, I've just booked my medical in London for the 23rd august. Can I fill in the online readiness form then make an interview appointment or should I wait until after my medical? I know there is a 4-5 day wait for the the results to get to the embassy but I don't want to leave it and have to wait longer for my interview. As long as I book the interview for a week after my medical I should be fine is that right? Or should I just stop rushing and wait?

Thanks:)

You can make an interview appointment if you have everything you need to take...their listed documents, affidavit of support, as well as already have a medical scheduled.

My fiancé has his medical scheduled for the 16th and his interview on the 24th.  As soon as we had completed all of the steps outlined (fill out the DS160, gather all documents, schedule the medical), we submitted the online readiness form and scheduled the interview.  The directions don't say you have to wait until after the medical is done to schedule the interview, and you have the option of rescheduling the interview date if you need to on the website, so I saw it just as following directions and snatching up the earliest interview appointment possible  :D

It does say on the London website that it takes about 5 working days for the results to reach the embassy.  So, you might want to schedule your interview a week and a day later just to make sure the documents arrive.  Since your medical is on the 23rd, I would be a bit nervous scheduling the interview on the 30th as that is only 4 working days, not counting the 30th as the 5th day since that would be interview day and who knows when the courier package might arrive that day in line with the interview times.  Even if your medical results are not at the embassy by the time of the interview, I'm pretty sure they will let you go ahead with the interview but will temporarily "reject" the visa with a 221g pending receipt of the medical results.  So, not really a rejection more of a "we have to wait to receive all of the documentation before saying approved".

How busy does it seem these days?  We expect our case to be with NVC any time now. Just want to know if you can get medical and interview scheduled with about a months notice or longer ?

Congrats and good luck by the way !!

It seems like the medical appointments are booked about 2-3 weeks out but if people cancel or reschedule, they might have a sudden opening that you're able to grab.  As soon as your have your LND number, I would call Knightsbridge and get your medical scheduled.  Also, if you haven't done it yet, get your police certificate ordered.  We did an expedited order with ACRO and it took almost 3 weeks to arrive (expedited is supposed to be 2 days of processing and then mailed out, so we should have received it much faster and not sure what the delay was about).

In terms of interview dates, there are still a few days left in August with availability the last I checked this morning (August 24, 25, 29, and 30) and September has many days still open, except Mondays which aren't available until the 18th.  I would say out of the potential 21 interview days in September, there are still 13-14 of them available with multiple time slots.

Oh great, thanks for the info. I have ordered the police clearance certificate already. I am still waiting for NVC to receive our case, should be soon. Once I have that, I will schedule the medical. Good to see Sept still have loads of slots. I am happy to even book interview for Oct as well. I still have a house to sell in the UK first !

Thanks again for the info. Gives me an idea of timeline.

They seem to only open the next month once a month is over/a new month starts.  When we went to book the interview, they only had August dates available and September wasn't even open yet.  I can't remember if it was July 31st or August 1st/2nd, but one of those days was the days where they finally opened September.  So, if you are thinking of booking in October, you probably won't see those dates show up as available until August 30th/September 1st.
