I've seen that and replied to her message. 8 months is a looooong time. She updated her I-485 timeline on VJ and didnt mention anything about I-765 and I-131. Am waiting for her reply.

See below. But this isn't really an issue to be concerned with right now, we don't even have our green cards :D

  • If you are 18 or older, you do have to carry your green card with you. Section 264(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (I.N.A.) requires all lawful permanent residents (LPRs) to have “at all times” official evidence of LPR status. Failing to have your green card with you is a misdemeanor and if you are found guilty you can be fined up to $100 and put in jail for up to 30 days. (I.N.A. Section 264(e).) A copy is not good enough, because the law does not use the word “copy” or refer to “other evidence” of LPR status.

I would assume a driver license is proof of legal status as they will only give you a driver license if  you are legal here. I asked about getting one, just to prove residence in my state, and they said  they will only emit it for the duration of my  visa (so 3 months...), no thank you, I am going to wait. At least my Canadian license is valid for me to drive.

I don't think this is the norm, I remember in the K1 process there were some people who had to wait longer because of their situation or other things, maybe he had a RFE/RFIE, we don't know the whole story but this sure isn't normal.

I agree because when I first got my Temps at BMV in cincinnati, the expiry date of temps was same of 90 day K-1 visa. So recently when I went there they asked for I-797C of I-485 and got a temps again and this month ending am planning to do the full license so technically they will issue your license based on your immigration status.

Hi August Filers family!

Just received an update on my husband's EAD also! New Card Is Being Produced as of Nov 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm BEYOND HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing a few others like Texasfiler and Stephanie B also getting the same update! It seems when they make changes they make them together... similar to how a lot of people were "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" as of Oct 17th. Hang in there everyone!

Congratulations  in the same position 🤗
