So guys I spoke to the nicest immigration officer today, he is from India.  He actually gave me full information on my case, he told me that he cant see everything but he will tell me what he can see.  Well he explained and told me their expedite is not the normal expedite it takes basically 30 days to hear back from them lol.  He shed some light on the fact that they dont respond or assign an officer to SR when its not outside the processing time. So if you sent in a SR and its stuck at not yet assigned to an officer - the possibility is that your case is not outside of the normal processing time.  He said that we all should go to the post office and identify ourselves there or make sure that our names are written inside of our mail box, because he said if they should send a mail to us and it is return to them then its gonna be a very longgggg wait before things get sorted out.  Well he was able to tell me how far they reached with my case and that an officer is assigned to it and that i should hear from them by Friday. Another thing he mentioned is that we should bear in mind that many others are requesting the expedite and SR and these things are assigned to an officer so it basically boils down to how fast the officer works on her pile of SR or expedite request. Awww, such a nice Officer...he basically had a normal conversation with me and was in no hurry to rush me off the phone.

Someone in the September thread called, and they said what is online reflect what is going on. Look attentively though, the September date is only for those EAD for people adjusting from a pending I485...

@currywarrior Well it is still required if you used the old document which they still accepted back then...but if you used the new document it really sucks!!

And what does that mean? I assume that majority of us here are adjusting from a pending i-485....

The majority that are adjusting status from k1 visa and stuff like that yeah, but definitely not everyone asking for a work  visa...so we should go faster than the others . Still it's not like there are a lot of people on VJ compared to the demand.

Had another phone call with USCIS today.. the Tier 2 Officer told me there was still no tracking number and call back tomorrow. Thanks to Ray&Ash's suggestion I looked at my informed delivery dashboard, and it says my card will be delivered TOMORROW!!! So, USCIS doesn't know a tracking number, while it was sent yesterday.. Their system is soooo lagging!!

 

Additionally, the officer told me that my I-485 has been "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" since October 5th!!!???!!! He did say my case wasn't picked up by my local office yet so no update on that.. Well, that's better than the "Fingerprint Fee received" that I can see on my online tracking status :/
