Interesting they have no idea of what SR is....They gave me a referral number and like I said, I can not track that on USCIS site. Not sure what do I do now if not even a ticket I got open.

Dont worry. Mine started with T and ended with MSC too.. I think it depends if the officer raises for you or u raise one fr urself..maybe jus guessing...

But your SR number is fine..

Also u cannot check the SR status in any search tool. Its only in ur case on uscis or over the phone .

I joined late to the party, here's my timeline, my case was kind of special, I was in a TN visa before and then married US citizen and a criminal record on top of everything :o

Married on June 24 2017, sending AOS.

2-August package sent (I-485, I-130, I-131, I-134).
4-August delivered.

12-August SMS received confirming delivery.

15-August received notices by mail.

5-Sep fingerprint notice received.

28-Sep fingerprint appointment.

20-Oct got RFE asking for 2016 tax records of my wife and I; funny because I sent 2014,15 & 16 but I guess the problem was I sent what HR block gives you when you file electronically, this time I sent original transcripts from the IRS.
I was really scared because the letter was actually pink, you know... USCIS on the envelop and pink content is a no no feeling haha.
24-Oct my MSC number shown delivery of the package.
2-Nov one of my MSC numbers changed with:

New Card Is Being Produced

On November 2, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

6-Nov received 2 notices in the mail, one for the EAD approved, the other for the advance parole.

Now, first my visa was going to expire on Oct 1st, my previous employer filed for extension on August 1st, and the application was approved on August 18th, for those who knows about that visa, it's only issued to Canadians and Mexicans in a skilled on demand profession and any attempt to stay permanently bans you for life, so applying for a greencard had a huge risk.

And, on top of that... I had a DWI record, I'm currently on unsupervised probation before judgement, the stupidest thing I did in my life, I had some wine and went for smokes, I got detained 2 blocks from my house in the gas station because a fused stop light!, I wasn't even drunk but I wasn't going to risk and get a DUI so I didn't blow... anyways, I have to say that my application was flawlessly filed, I triple checked everything, the list of evidence was exactly what they asked for, the copies were laser color, the order of the documents, translations, checks, pictures, etc, were carefully crafted and marked with post-it dividers by color... I even use a hole puncher and the package was ended up too thick, like a bible.

Finally, I did not use a lawyer, 4k for filling a bunch of PDFs? haha no thanks, in fact I regret having paid for a "initial consultation", and I consulted with 2 different lawyers and no one, and I mean, no one could told me what was going to happen with my particular situation; in fact my DWI lawyer (sucked by the way) was surprised that I filled the application with no help.

I will keep you posted when I received more news.

Cheers.

I have been following this thread for a while and realized that I never posted my timeline. My case is in the Texas Service Center and is employment based. Here is my timeline.

Application Sent (I-765, I-131, I-485) - August 2nd 2017
Application Received - August 4th 2017
Notice of Arrival for Application - August 14th 2017
Biometrics Appointment Notice - August 24th 2017
Biometrics Appointment - September 5th 2017
RFIE for I485 - October 17th
Notice for Initial Evidence Received - October 30th

I was a little disappointed since the RFIE was bs. The RFIE was that the G-325A document was missing but the G-325A is no longer required according to the new rules.

Does anyone know if an RFIE on the I-485 reset or pause the time on the I-765? And does an RFIE on the I-485 mean that it was picked up? The reason I am asking is because the Texas service center is processing cases as of March 17th 2017.

8/01/17 --- AOS sent I-485, I-765, I-131
8/04/17 --- AOS Packet received
8/12/17  --- Received hard copy of NOA
8/19/17  --- Biometrics letter notice for I-485 & I-765 & I-131
9/05/17  --- Biometrics Appointment Done
10/18/17 --- RFIE on I-485
10/30/17 --- Received evidence for RFIE
12/01/2017 - EAD/AP Approved
12/08/2017 - Received EAD/AP Approval Notice and Card in the Mail
12/19/17  --- I-485 Card in Production notification

12/22/17 - Green card mailed notification

12/26/17 - Green card approval letter received

12/28/17 - Green card received

That's so upsetting! Also surprising that you got an RFIE so long after the biometrics. I thought we were in the safe zone. Not sure if it resets the clock or just pauses it -- varying experiences on VJ.

I opened last week through the phone but called twice about it ever since. I called yesterday to talk to a tier 2 officer and she was very helpful, gave me updates on my case (such as they finished my background check in mid October and my case was ready to be assigned for an officer since then) so I guess that helpedd my case get assigned to an officer today since it’s been sitting there for like 3 weeks now :/ ? I’m not sure, but yeah, I guess keep calling them and ask to talk to a tier 2 officer so you can get better answers to your case =D

:D I need to bother them more often so that they can assign mine to an officer.  You should hear good news soon, now that its been assigned to someone.

My Advance Parole and EAD had different PDs so that’s why I got one before the other. My SR was for my work permit =)
