Thanks for the answers! I feel a little better already! So instead of my case being sent to a Service Center, it was sent to the National Benefits Center? What is the difference?

Also, I have DACA, and that expires August 2018. I think I should be good, right? If not, can I still apply for an EAD and AP for free at this point? I did not apply for it while I sent my packet. Thanks for your help!

The NBC is just a different name, it's still a service center I think (it's USCIS.. is it every completely clear? ;)). I think the NBC handles all the AOS cases that are family based.

I don't know how the whole DACA situation is with regards to AP/EAD, sorry! Hopefully someone else can answer your question.

How do you guys get connect to an officer instead of the customers service?

ahhhhh....that's crazy

when the customer service rep told me they will assign someone to work on SR by 15th day after raising a SR and and get a reply by 30th day I was like what the hell..

Same reaction when I did the first time =( I got a nicer agent the second time but I think I'm gonna call again to ask for a Tier 2 officer. You should definitely reinforce those calls, specially since you're within the time frame for approval. Hopefully it all works out for you!!

Hello! Long time thread follower- first time poster!

I am a bit confused with a few things. If any of you can shed some light on it, it would be much appreciated.

I sent in my application (i130, i485) on August 2, 2017

Case was Rejected Because I sent an Incorrect fee on August 7, 2017

Resent packet on August 9, 2017

Received i797c for my i485 on August 26, 2017 - but did not receive one for i130... is this normal?

Fingerprints scheduled for September 14, 2017-  DONE- Case status has been stuck at "fingerprint fee received" since then!

FIRST CONCERN: The case number for my original, rejected i797 (i485) changed, so I'm guessing I should have received a new one for i130!

SECOND CONCERN: I see that a bunch of August Filers have been getting their interview dates, but I have search ALL processing times on the USCIS, and none of the Field Offices are processing anywhere near August 2017... so how are people getting their cases processed? Am I checking the wrong place? My Local Office, Newark, NJ is only processing cases from September, 2016....

THIRD CONCERN: Which Center do I fall under, if my receipt number starts with MSC?

Does anyone have any insight? For case processing times, should I check Field Office, Service Center or NBC?

Hi, your I485 was the one rejected, so I don't think you should receive another number for I130.

I also thing that processing time provided online are wrong, I am a September filer and I am ready to be scheduled for interview ...I know it doesn't mean I will get scheduled any time soon necessarily but it seems that the benefit center is already done with my file. They start the process then send your case to your local office for them to schedule the interview.

MSC is for the national benefit center which we all fall under, but once your file is ready you get transferred to your local office for the rest of the process.

I think that for processing/interview time you need to check your local office, but it sure seems like either are off.
