So it’s been a long time now and my status still the same..

My timeline

Aug 24- Sent the AOS Package

Aug 30- received emails- text confirmation from the USCIS

Sep 20 - received request for initial evidence (I-485) to fill out form I-130A

Sep 27- I mailed my response

until this day i haven’t heard anything no emails text.. the status online still ( mailed request for initial evidence) usually it changes within a week of sending the response!!

I have the mail confirmation From the UPS that my package was delivered and signed..

should I re-send another response or wait?

i called the NCSC and they told me to wait 60 days, to follow up and check if they received my response !! I don’t want to wait and then find out they lost the form or didn’t receive it...

What do you guys suggest?

@chloe my understanding is that they have accepted your mail but I would give a call to USCIS and make sure they have acknowledge that and nothing is pending from your end.

Thank you for your reply!

I called the USCIS, the only people I got hold of are the customers service. I don’t think they have access to anything. They just kept telling me to wait 60 days to check if they received my response!

@chloe it is hard but I have seen some other people with the same issue and unfortunately USCIS web site isnt alwats very helpfull with questions like this. I would give it till Nov 20 or so...based on what I have see, if everything is OK with your response, your next status should be "Response to Request for Evidence Received".

Dont panic, have faith and wait everything is going to work fine.....sorry I dont have an exact answer for you.

Hi all,

Big congrats to everyone who has recently had updates to their case.

I filed for AD/EAP and AOS on August 12th, the receipt date on my NOAs is August 18th, and I had my biometrics on September 18th. Since that, nothing - my USCIS online account hasn't been updated since August 22nd. I know this is nothing to worry about per se as I am at the 80 day mark, but I want to be prepared to go through the necessary steps once 90 days has been reached (and I always presume the worst!)

From searching on the very helpful VJ forums, the steps that can be taken after 90 days are:

- Submit service request online OR call USCIS to submit SR

- Write to congressman

- Schedule infopass appointment

Have any August filers done any of the above yet - and if so, which, if any, would you recommend?

Many thanks in advance.

I raised a SR on the phone and so far I havent received any news (granted, I did one last week and one today hahaha) but on the second time (today) I felt that the agent was way more helpful. She said she's gonna send that to be looked into as soon as possible whereas the first guy I got just told me to wait up to 15 to 30 days for a response. So i guess you can tell from the agent which one can be more helpful or not to your case. In terms of what to recommend, I dont have much experience in that but from what I see here writing to congressman really helps =)

So today I called USCIS again to check whether I was getting just my EAD, or a combo card. The initial person can indeed not see anything, except what you see on your online case status. They seem to be trained to answer basic questions, read of a script etc. Since the person was not able to tell me any additional information, she suggested I could schedule an InfoPass appointment to talk to an Immigration Officer in person. I asked if I could instead be connected to an Immigration Officer by phone instead, and she did. I was put in a callback queue with an estimated time of 3 hours, but they called me back in 1.5 hours. This person told me my AP was approved on November 2nd, and would try to find my USPS tracking number as it showed to be mailed. I was put on hold, but then something went wrong with the phone system on their end, and I was disconnected. I called back to customer service, told them my phone call was disconnected, and they put me on hold again and transferred me to another Officer. This person told me my card was produced today (Nov 6) and would be mailed out ASAP, and I could "call back later today, or tomorrow, or to just keep trying every day until I get my tracking number". Hopefully I'll get a tracking number soon, and then get my EAD/AP/combo card this week!

I still believe me writing to my Congressman has helped me speed things along (with reason of having my AP in time for my wedding celebration in my home country). It is much faster than the average timeframe.

No, I'm an F1 student, so I'm not dependent on the EAD yet (until I start looking for a job). My AP was my main concern, since my wife and I intend to visit my home country to celebrate our marriage with my family (especially my ailing grand mothers). It's a longer story than that, that's the short summary!
