Also i advice you to register yourself for Informed Delivery as you said the mailman is not regular in your area. https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

Thanks for the tip, I tried it but I need to confirm my identity in person at a post office, they don't know my partner and I live here :( we will probably go this weekend

There's a good app for apple products I think, I own a samsung so I got an app called "USCIS APP" that isn't actually that good but makes it quicker to check on your cases than on the website (although this is useless since I signed up for text and email on uscis but i get a bit crazy).

The other app i have is "USCIS Case" and that is the one I use to check the 100 previous cases in one click. You should be able to find it on Google Play.

Thanks for all the info!  I have an iPhone. It seems there's a USCIS case tracker app where you can see 100 cases from a receipt number... what's a receipt number though? Is that different to the case number?

Edit - ok figured it out, a receipt number is the case number.

So since I can obsess over things easily, I thought I'd do some stats for the group with this new app!

I checked the 500 cases after my i-485 receipt number. Since we're all August filers, I'm guessing all our numbers are pretty close. Here's what I found:

  • Of the 500 cases, 116 cases are specifically for the i-485
  • Of these 116 i-485s filed in August, 44 (or 38%) are currently "ready to be scheduled for interview"
  • 15 cases are in RFE/RFIE stage
  • The remaining 49% of i-485 cases are all at "fingerprint fee received"

This makes me feel a bit better, at any rate...

lol I also briefly browsed the status of cases that were 2000 cases behind my case number. Looks like those were early July filers, and quite a few of them are at "interview ready to be scheduled" and "fingerprint fee received". Basically the takeaway from this exercise is: regardless of what your status currently shows, not to worry, it's normal

Yes I expedited based on a pending job offer on 10/10, and they responded to my request asking for supporting docs on 10/12. I faxed my offer on the same day.

Thanks! If you have a pending job offer or other valid reason, try call USCIS and ask to expedite. Good luck to you!
