Btw, does status for AOS change when à RFE is sent? I am worried about missing one now if they mess up the names of the enveloppe again

My I-485 status changed when I got RFE and when I responded to RFE. But this isn't true for everyone as the status update is simply not guaranteed.

Still no update besides "fingerprint fee received". I guess our case hasn't reached the local office yet? Or do you think it needs to switch to "Ready to be scheduled for an interview", at which point it goes to the local office?

I wish we could track where the app is...

I think at this moment most of August packages are at local offices. But if the local office has quite a lot of packages ahead of you, I don't think you'll get the ready to be scheduled notice. This is all just assumption though.

Oh and mine is still fingerprint fee was received too.

Yeah, it's hard to tell. My local office seems to move fairly quickly (I know another couple who got their interview within 2 months of PD). So it's gotten my hopes up, I suppose. I need to just stop thinking about it.

Do you know if your local office moves quickly or is backlogged?

I think they are on the quicker side, but not like ridiculously fast lol

I know a couple in the city I live who went through this in 2014 but I think the timing is quite different. According to their timeline I should have already got an interview notice.

However, there is someone I found on Visajourney who lives around me and went through this in 2016. According to their timeline, I will get the interview notice on 17th October. So I put my hope on that day :)

Thank you! I hope it will continue that way and for the others too. Yes I’m in the San Jose office, that’s where I had my bio appointment. I was checking that too and I’m not too sure if it’s accurate.

Haha I've also used other people's timelines at my local office to project my interview notice! I've marked October 16th in my calendar as a possible day :) So now I'm telling myself not to think about it until at least two weeks so that I don't drive myself crazy.

Which visa status are you adjusting from?

I just had an immigration officer on the phone because of an error on the sending enveloppe for NOA. They said my case was still at the National Benefits Center and that my biometrics had been received. So not at local office yet... and so far no RFE..

My AP status had changed to "Document Mailed to Me" but that was because they had to resend my NOA for AP. She said it was too soon for AP..

Yeah, I bet it is the best policy to just think about other stuff and forget about aos for a while.

I came in with K1! Has been a long journey XD

Uh oh.. I received my NOAs on 21st Aug, and have done the biometrics on 5th Sep. So mine might be still there too. Not the best news that I expected, but definitely good to know. Thanks for sharing :)

We had our biometrics on the same day, and I think the background check can take a month, so perhaps there'll be some activity behind the scenes in a couple days.

Hi everyone,

As there are a lot of pages and I don't have time to read everything... I was just wondering if anyone had received their EAD yet? Without the expedited shipping.

Also on what grounds can we have it expedited? I'm guessing if we have a job offer or something?

And... finally... how do you know if your file is at NBC or at a local office? On my notice it's written that it's at the NBC but that was in August so I'm just wondering if they would tell us themselves or if we have to look it up?

Thanks!
