Almost 3 weeks since i called the first time for the status to change and they responded the next day but they mailed me a letter asking for evidence and it took 4 days to arrive... Did they ask you to fax them something?? Or they haven't answered yet??

They requested evidence the following day. I faxed them on 9/22 and still haven't heard back. Sigh. The card took 4 days to arrive? I faxed job offer and overdue bills. I start work on 16th, I am so worried it won't get here on time.

Biometrics was August 18th. They answered me via email the following day. How long after you faxed the documents did it change? Have they mailed it yet? Did your I485 change to ready to be scheduled for interview? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Progress update:

After my I-485 RFE status was updated yesterday to "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received", I decided to call today to raise a 2nd service request to expedite my EAD. I told the lady that I never received a feedback for the 1st SR I submitted and to which I faxed my job offer 3 weeks ago (1st SR status shows completed). Also I told her that my starting date is after 2 days but I didn't tell her about the I-485 RFE

2 hours later I received this update on my EAD application:

New Card Is Being Produced

On September 29, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Just got my biometrics done by walk-in (original date was Oct 4th, walked in Sept 29th). Alexandria VA office, 9AM, took me less than 30 minutes! I called USCIS to ask if there is anything on file for expedition of my AP card, but the gentleman said I would hear something no later than 30 days after NOA1 (which was Sept 8), so I'll just have to wait and see.. Fingers crossed!

so I've been reading on the website that after 75 days you can ring up for a SR, but then people on here are saying to just wait until 90 days?? which is right??

I would try after 75 days, that's what the USCIS website recommends to do. And if they tell you it's still within the normal processing time, I would submit a SR after 90 days.

Do people submit a service request for the AOS in general, or only for the EAD/AP?

August 2017 - June 2018 AoS

April 2020 - January 2021 RoC

Jan 2022 - September 2022 Citizenship

If you consider your case for the AOS is outside normal processing time, you can submit a service request.(Knowing that the AOS processing time really depends on your local field office)

But in general people submit a SR for the EAD or the AP,  these documents are supposed to be received around 90 days after NOA1 (nowadays it's more around 100-110 days).

Hey guys, earlier I posted that I thought my AP was coming in the mail because status had changed to "Document was mailed to me"

Turns out it was the NOA for AP (I thought EAD NOA was same as AP) that hadn't been delivered the first time (returned to uscis by the post office I guess) the reason being that.... The wrong name was on the enveloppe probably twice!!!( someone I dont know, c/o my husband but still I think the post office didnt look too close the first time)... So it was my NOA and the enveloppe I received (2nd mailing by uscis) still had à totally wrong name on it... Which is scary...

So I will call them to fix that to make sure I get all the mail they send in the future...

And I guess when it says "document was mailed to me" doesnt mean it is the actual AP or EAD....

Btw, does status for AOS change when à RFE is sent? I am worried about missing one now if they mess up the names of the enveloppe again
