Wooow  really this is alot of question 🤔gosh. Good luck to all of us waiting for Aos to interview

:D:D adipo21  it's much more than this, we just never know which ones will be asked - they might just ask 2 or 8 questions  - who knows, when it comes to USCIS we just have to be prepared.

Congrats to the people who are seeing sudden progress on their cases!

Still waiting. I know another couple who filed at our local office and they received their interview around 2 months after filing. So that's making me hope we have similar luck...

August 2017 - June 2018 AoS

April 2020 - January 2021 RoC

Jan 2022 - September 2022 Citizenship

Guys, I have a question. When we get our AED, will we be counted as "Permanent Resident Alien"?

Green Card:

Normally, when a person wishes to work and live in the United States, the Green Card or permanent residency is the main goal. An EAD can help that person on the way to achieving a Green Card. A Green Card holder has lawful permanent residence in the United States. This means that they can live and work in the US for any employer.

If you have a Green Card you do not need an additional Employment Authorization Document as the legal ability to work is part of the Green Card benefits.

A Green Card also brings with it other benefits, including being able to travel in and out of the country on a temporary basis and to file for a Green Card for a spouse or an unmarried child. An Employment Authorization Document does not allow you to travel and return to the US, nor does it allow you to file for other people.
The EAD is more limited in its scope but it is available to a wider variety of people. The Employment Authorization Document also varies in how long you can have the document. It is also slightly quicker and easier to apply for an EAD as the process for Green Card applications is lengthy. Because many people cannot afford to wait many years without working before the Green Card is granted, there are benefits to applying for the EAD in the meantime.

Work Permit:

Work permits, more commonly known as an employment authorization documents (EADs), are issued to a wide variety of nonimmigrants (temporary visa holders) and to people with applications pending before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Work permits may last for a few months or up to a year (with possible renewals), depending on the visa or other status of their holder.

Every foreign national must acquire a work visa or authorization to enter employment in the United States, whether this is on a temporary or permanent basis. The Employment Authorization Document is acquired by filing Form I-765, which is entitled “Application for Employment Authorization.” Once an EAD has been acquired, the applicant can work in the United States legally, for the length of time the EAD is granted.
After you apply for Employment Authorization and it is granted, the EAD allows you to work for any employer in the United States. However, it is purely for work and it does not mean that the holder has any immigrant status.

My husband ask me if i will be qualify for permanent resident by December 31 for tax purpose. Because if I get EAD combo before December 31, we will probably get thousands tax return. So I'm not sure if with EAD, I will be considered as Permanent Resident or not. And I don't think I will get the green card within this year...

What you saying is partly true? its hard answering the question because everyone tax situation is different.   Just a quick skim through the tax code.  You still qualify for filing status of married jointly, however the rest of this depends on how much you make and if you are taking the standard or itemize deduction.   Try reading Publication 519 or seek help of tax professional.

Received a RFIE on Saturday that says the following:

1. Submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for the most recent tax year.

The petitioner/sponsor must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year.

2. Based on the documents submitted with Form 1-864, Affidavit of Support, for the joint sponsor, the income did not meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the joint sponsor's household size.
Submit evidence of assets that meet the standards listed below or obtain a different joint sponsor.

We initially sent my wife's transcript only, we made a mistake of not sending the other forms (required because she is self-employed).

So we responded to the RFIE by submitting required forms and schedules and also included a joint sponsor as a backup.

Almost 3 weeks since i called the first time for the status to change and they responded the next day but they mailed me a letter asking for evidence and it took 4 days to arrive... Did they ask you to fax them something?? Or they haven't answered yet??
