Thanks Mmagic!  I am in Dallas, Texas -I am so heart broken for the people of Houston who most of them are flooded out and lost almost everthing - any help that can be given to them to get back on their feet as quickly as possible I totally endorsed that - and if USCIS is prioritizing their cases I say thumbs up to that.

Amen to that!

You are so right! On my RFIE they are asking me for my I94 which I have already send and it's pretty much in all the forms but anyways what can we do just send it again lol

Wow - and I once read that if you are married to a USC and filed concurrently there is no need to send in I-94 , just send it to them again.  And you know what I think, either they misplaced it or there are some officers who just want to give us a warm time, my back if I laugh one more time:D

Hey guys,

I'm currently filing for AoS based on marriage to USC.

Timeline:

Aug 29. 2017 - i-130, i-485, i-765 received by USCIS

September 7. 2017 - 3 texts and 3 emails received from USCIS.
September 12. 2017 - NOA1 for all three.

Still waiting for biometrics letter.

I also have a pending petition that my mother filed for me a couple of years ago based on F2B category (unmarried son/daughter of a green card holder). Is it best to send a letter to USCIS and update my marital status so they deny my mother's petition or is it better to withdraw the petition voluntarily based on the change of my marital status? I also mentioned the previous petition pending and provided the number to USCIS in one of the forms when we filed the AoS package.
Any advice is appreciated.

Hey Phoenix Filer welcome aboard and I believe that you will get the biometric appointment letter soon.  Regarding the petition that your mother filed for you it would take 7 to 8 years before a visa number becomes available to adult sons/daughters of Permanent Resident - and it takes only 6 -12 months to get your Permanent Resident Card if you are married to a USC, well of course, if you are located in NY it sometimes take over 1 year to get LPR.  Based on your recent application previous one will automatically be cancelled - but if you wish you can still send them a letter re cancellation. Remember though you can also call their number so that they can give you further infor. on what to do.  Many Blessings!

As they say "patience is a virtue" lol...In our case, all that we cared about getting, for now, is the EAD since my wife has a job offer waiting. The minute we have the card in hand she can start her work. The Green Card can wait for another six months as far as we are concerned, we are in no rush to have it. I already got her health plan with Covered California, she got her SS, here Ca ID and soon Drivers license. As far as AP goes, I don't know if they approved it with the EAD or on its own. Either way, AP is no big deal to have even though we applied for it in case we want to spend Christmas in the Phillippines as our reason for the AP. if not, then no big deal.

Hi. Can I ask how your wife get the SS and CA ID card? My husband has tried to add me into his health insurance plan but they requested for SSN. But I know that I can't get any SSN and CA ID until I get the EAD. Is it right?

Hi @Phoenix Filer, this is exactly my situation. This is my counsel to you; do not call them about it, just leave it there and forget about it. USCIS officials are very nosy and sometimes they pick on totally unnecessary and trivial things. Move on with your new application and the GC will be out in 8months, plus or minus. Goodluck to you.

Yes you are right. Uou will need SS, Certificate of marriage, California ID, Copy of Visa in passport...all this needed if you dont have Green Card. If you have not applied for SS when you arrived then u have to wait for your EAD card so you can apply for one. SS is needed and rewuired for almost evetything.

Beautiful California! You are absolutely right, patience is a virture lol.  Most of us just want to work - at this stage EAD is very important - but I think once we are working we will forget about the GC for awhile - it's like when it comes so be it:D.  I got a job interview for next week, hopefully I will get a job offer, wish me luck.

Good luck with ur job interview all the best 😊and ur right  most of us are waiting for EAD

I haven't received anything (bio letter) yet, as far as I know. :/ I have seen they have been slower since the past week though, in general. Not sure why. Hopefully everything is okay. Let me know if you have any news on your end! Cheers.

I'm not sure if I already updated. I had my biometrics taken last sept 6.

I called their number a few weeks ago twice but they were reluctant to provide the info I needed.

I got the biometrics letter. Would you recommend doing an early walk-in? My appointment is for September 27, but I have to drive 150 miles each way for it. I'll be in the area on Sept 18-19, however.

Do they update the status online or give some kind of confirmation that the appointment was attended?

Phoenix Filer you are most welcome! At this point I would suggest not to call them again - your previous application that your mom made will be cancelled based on your current application. Congratulations on getting the biometric letter, I am so happy to hear that the process is moving along. I have read where a lot of persons have done early walk in and got through - but there are some that didnt get through - it all depends on your ASC Center.  Oh My!  It's a very long drive to get your your application Centre - I dont know if you would want to take the risk and drive so far to get there only for them to turn you back - but if I had to drive so far to get to he ASC, what I would do is just wait and go on my biometric date that is assigned to me, however, I would try to get there at least couple hours before the scheduled time. You have less than 2 weeks before September 27, so just wait it out ok.  No they dont give any update/confirmation that biometric was attended -  in the coming weeks after the biometric is done you will get a notification on their site "saying that they are ready to schedule you for an interview" that alone is proof that they have received your biometric information that was done.  So hang in there, you will definately hear good news from them by ending October.  We are all in this together, stay blessed and good luck.

@Phoenix Filer I see where you are going to be in that area on Sept 18-19, in that case take the chance try to see if they will accept you - take the biometric letter, your ID along with your Marriage Certificate.  Good Luck.
