You will need a Job Offer, a call by it self doesnt mean anything. Once the employer makes him an official offer he can use that to start the process.

Hey guys,

I'm currently filing for AoS based on marriage to USC.

Timeline:

Aug 29. 2017 - i-130, i-485, i-765 received by USCIS

September 7. 2017 - 3 texts and 3 emails received from USCIS.
September 12. 2017 - NOA1 for all three.

Still waiting for biometrics letter.

I also have a pending petition that my mother filed for me a couple of years ago based on F2B category (unmarried son/daughter of a green card holder). Is it best to send a letter to USCIS and update my marital status so they deny my mother's petition or is it better to withdraw the petition voluntarily based on the change of my marital status? I also mentioned the previous petition pending and provided the number to USCIS in one of the forms when we filed the AoS package.
Any advice is appreciated.

So with BIO Appointment complete, we received the beautiful yellow sheet of paper requesting initial evidence.

Here is what is being asked:

  • The petitioner/sponsor list their current income on Form 1-864 as an amount to be considered as sufficient; however, no evidence has been submitted as poof of current income.

  • Submit all supporting tax documentation (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and all supporting tax schedules) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service for the most recent tax year

The petitioner/sponsor must submit all supporting tax documents for the most recent tax year.

  • Based on the documents submitted with For I-864, Affidavit of Support, for the petitioner/sponsor, the income did not meet 125% (100% if military) of the poverty guideline for the petitioner/sponsors household size.

So my question is: Do i need to find a sponsor if i make more than the guideline? Or will submitting all the first two requested evidence cover the 3rd item requested.

We live in California and I've read at the AOS April/2017 group that some people from CA are already getting their GCs...

I hope we'll have the same luck, although I've heard also that CA has a long waiting timeline... let's see...

We filed on May 30th and Since July 12th the status on USCIS case shows "Ready to be scheduled for Interview"  I heard it takes around two months after this status showing to have an interview date.

Yes, some filers will get GC without an interview and some have to attend an interview.

Yesterday, Septemeber 14th, EAD card was approved and being ordered. It took 107 days from the date of filing or 90 days from the date of NOA1 which was on June 14th.

It kind of strange how folks getting RFE and RFIE for documents that was already sent in. Whewwww, seems to me like this is USCIS way of buying time and stopping folks from bombarding them with calls:Djs - I guess there always gonna be a stumbling block along the way in life when trying to achieve certain things.

I wish you luck, yes I read where persons are getting their GC in a little as 4 months - for a moment I thought that no longer exist - but it boils down to your field office - and it seems like some people are just very lucky:D

Ready to be scheduled for Interview is progress, but damn sometimes it takes awhile to actually get an interview date. A number of K-1 getting their GC without an interview - but I read that you get the GC quicker with the interview - and the wait is longer when your interview is waived.

As they say "patience is a virtue" lol...In our case, all that we cared about getting, for now, is the EAD since my wife has a job offer waiting. The minute we have the card in hand she can start her work. The Green Card can wait for another six months as far as we are concerned, we are in no rush to have it. I already got her health plan with Covered California, she got her SS, here Ca ID and soon Drivers license. As far as AP goes, I don't know if they approved it with the EAD or on its own. Either way, AP is no big deal to have even though we applied for it in case we want to spend Christmas in the Phillippines as our reason for the AP. if not, then no big deal.

Beautiful California! You are absolutely right, patience is a virture lol.  Most of us just want to work - at this stage EAD is very important - but I think once we are working we will forget about the GC for awhile - it's like when it comes so be it:D.  I got a job interview for next week, hopefully I will get a job offer, wish me luck.

Of course, best of luck to you. Depending on where in Texas you live, I heard that USCIS is prioritizing cases from the Hurricane affected areas. True or not, I can't verify that.

Thanks Mmagic!  I am in Dallas, Texas -I am so heart broken for the people of Houston who most of them are flooded out and lost almost everthing - any help that can be given to them to get back on their feet as quickly as possible I totally endorsed that - and if USCIS is prioritizing their cases I say thumbs up to that.
