You're welcome. It was very easy and simple. Didn't take more than 10 minutes. They take a photo which is gonna be your green card picture (so try to look good, I messed mine up... 😒), signature and fingerprints. That's all. Oh and you have to fill out a form with your weight, height, hair and eye color.

JackUrban, thank you for the infos... Now I don't know what to fill in my weight, because I'll be 8 months pregnant at my biometrics appointment... I'm going to ask them if I should write my normal weight or my current pregnancy weight... which are really different hehehe

I have been struggling to understand why my SSN have being taking so long to be delivered at our mailbox. During my searches here I've seen some people mentioning about the status check site called SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements Program)

1- So are guys familiar with this website? https://www.uscis.gov/save/casecheck  never used before, instead for the most part I always check my AOS/EAD/AP on the USCIS (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

2- Do all of you here already received your Social Security Card? I applied beginning of August and nothing so far.....went back to the SSA and talked to them, they printed out my number and requested a new card to be delivered, still waiting.

Any experience around this area?

T_P, I have a SSN which was issued many years ago when I spent a few months here on a J1 visa...

Now I came to SSA to update my last name in the card and they said I would be able to update it just when I have the I-766... I think she meant I-765 but she said I-766... Anyway, I'm going to wait until the EAD/AP to go back there ... sorry, but I'm not able to help you with your question.

I went to USCIS to do the biometrics yesterday. It was done in less than 10 minutes including the waiting time.

I brought my passport, the appointment letter, and the marriage certificate to show why my name is different from the one in my passport.

We forgot to get the legal copy so just brought the keepsake one, and had no problems with it. I recommend to bring any type of marriage certificate although the appointment letter doesn't say so because the staff asked me to show her the proof of my name change.

Oh, and the letter says electronic devices are not allowed but if you do not use it, it is just fine to bring it in.

Yeah no problem!  I say to take it just in case since it's on your mind already.  The biometrics is very fast and easy.  I got there 20 minutes before hand and there wasn't as much security as I thought (no bag check and no metal detectors).  I took my phone inside but I never took it out or used it because the sign on the front doors prohibit that.  There were only two other people who came in at the same time as me.  My appointment was set for noon but I was out of there by 12:05 since there were so little people.  It feels great to have that step done too.

Congratulations skim00, thank God the biometric is over and done for you:)

So i got ONE text and email about my case earlier this week and today i got the NOA in the mail. However, i only got ONE, thats for the I-485. I am still waiting to get case numbers and NOA for the EA and AP. Did anyone else get their notifications on different dates or should i be worried?

I would recommend waiting a little bit... my case is similar to yours but I finally found out that they completely overlooked my form I765. I filed it the first week of August (3.8.17) and talked twice to the customer service agents about some mistakes they made (my misspelled name and the i765 omission, meaning that I never got any receipt notice for that form). I still need to wait some days for the email reply though (lockbox email) before filing a second i765. If they haven't answered by Monday I'll just re file that form again with all the other receipt copies. Just done with the biometrics today and the persons working there told me I may need to come back again (2 hours drive) for the other form. Although the customer service agent told me that sometimes they just take the fingerprints from the ones already done. Hopefully this just makes everything faster as I am in constant communication with UsCis because of these two mistakes  from their end. Lol. What you can also do and I did (and the agent did I think) is to look online your case number and add 1 number prior or after yours and see if maybe it's your same case, that's if you are already able to check it online.

Hope this helps :) we are all together in this 💖

Have a great day!!
