I have great empathy for refugees/asylees just seeing the news alone how they have to run from their country leaving everything behind just to save their lives.  Anyway, I will keep them in my prayers.

I totally agree

I'm so confident and optimistic about all August filers having a smooth sail all the way! :)

While I rejoice with you if you are an August filer, I also sympathize with everyone that will be eventually affected by the new USCIS policy concerning issuance of green cards for employment based category. All I can say is that "Do not despair", and don't stop believing.

In you state can you get ur driving  lince  with EAD card or they need GC.

I have read where persons here have used their Form I-797C to get the drivers license here - but I will wait until I get the EAD card to apply for SSN - then drivers license.

Yes, use the EAD to get the SSN, then use SSN to get the driver's license

And I found the Biometrics appointment letter in the mailbox today.

------

4th Aug, Package sent (485, 765, 131)

8th Aug, Package delivered

15th Aug, Three texts/emails received

16th Aug, Check withdrawn

21st Aug, Three NOAs received

23rd Aug, Status checking available on USCIS website

25th Aug, Biometrics appointment letter received

------

I went to USCIS to do the biometrics yesterday. It was done in less than 10 minutes including the waiting time.

I brought my passport, the appointment letter, and the marriage certificate to show why my name is different from the one in my passport.

We forgot to get the legal copy so just brought the keepsake one, and had no problems with it. I recommend to bring any type of marriage certificate although the appointment letter doesn't say so because the staff asked me to show her the proof of my name change.

Oh, and the letter says electronic devices are not allowed but if you do not use it, it is just fine to bring it in.
