what does it mean?

Some of us will get all 10 fingers printed, while some will only get 3 on the left and 3 on the right, while another set will only do their thumbs and index fingers.  The photo that is taken at Bio Appmt. will be used on our Green Card.

FYI guys!  Check out this link!

http://www.davismiles.com/in-person-interviews-to-get-a-green-card/

"Welcome to a new world. On August 28, 2017, USCIS issued a press release that describes the expansion of categories that will require in-person interviews to obtain a green card. The expansion includes green card applicants in employment based categories and relative petitions for refugees and asylees."

"An AOS applicant should expect the time frame to get a green card to be extended."

I have a question, what does code 3 meas on a bio appointment?

Biometrics Codes

Normally, an ASC Biometrics Notice would contain (in the top right area), a field named “Code.”    The “Code” field is intended to indicate the type of biometrics processing to be performed.  The possible values are:

Code 1 – fingerprinting only (10 prints);

Code 2 – biometrics (photo, signature and index finger);

Code 3 – fingerprints (10 prints) and biometrics (photo, signature and index finger).

USCIS has indicated that the applicable code for each biometrics appointment is determined based on the type of an application and certain relevant case factors.

Hope this answers your question?

My biometrics appointment was today -- it was really efficient and the officer was really friendly. I was out within 5 minutes!

Lets hope this good fortune continues for us all.

August 2017 - June 2018 AoS

April 2020 - January 2021 RoC

Jan 2022 - September 2022 Citizenship

I feel real bad for persons who are going to be affected by this  - interesting link anyway keeps up to date on what is happening.  Yes their is a 50-50 chance that your interview will be waived.  The majority of k-1 that I read about didnt get an interview - all the best continue being optimistic.

To be honest i didnt know that employment and other categories based green card didn't have personal interviews. By yes, that's a lil bad news but as long as all the documents are good and they have never broke any laws then they don't need to worry about anything :)

I didnt know either - but now that all these people gonna be interviewed now, effective October, the wait period will be a much longer for them.  I have great empathy for refugees/asylees just seeing the news alone how they have to run from their country leaving everything behind just to save their lives.  Anyway, I will keep them in my prayers.
