Good morning guys, I finally got some good news - my EAD card was approved, approval notice was sent out yesterday in the mail and my I-485 is now in que for ready to be scheduled for an interview.  I

Just want to update you guys.   Received two approval notices today AP and EAD. Hopefully the card will come soon in the mail.

I know right? It’s kind of crazy but for sure we will have it next month at last. 😊 Finally... hopefully. I’d be surprised if we didn’t since it’d be ~ 8 months o_O 

 

Can they send a second RFE for whatever reason after we already submitted answers to them? 

Timeline (From B2 visa to AOS)


July 15, 2016 -> Got married
August 3, 2017 -> Mailed AOS packet (I-130, I-485, I-765)
August 4, 2017 -> Package received
August 14, 2017 -> NOA for I-130 and I-485 (not I-765... called multiple times to ask about this but was told to wait)
August 25, 2017 -> NOA for Biometrics Appt (I-485)
August 30, 2017 -> Sent email asking to look for I-765 (My I-765 was LOST)
September 8, 2017 -> Biometrics Appt for I-485
September 26, 2017 -> Received email from USCIS I-765 found and PD August 4
October, 2017 -> NOA for I-765 and Tier 2 officer cancelled 2nd biometrics

November 3, 2017 -> Raised SR online for I-765

December 11, 2017 -> SR showed as "completed" by the assigned officer

January 8, 2018 -> Name was updated 

January 18, 2018 -> interview scheduled

8/14/17 --- AOS sent I-485, I-765, I-131

8/16/17 --- AOS Packet received Chicago USCIS Day 0

8/21/17  --- Received email & text notification 

8/23/17  --- Received hard copy of NOA  

9/01/17  --- Biometrics letter notice for I-485 & I-765 & I-131  

9/11/17  --- Biometrics Appointment Done

10/17/17 - Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

11/30/2017 - EAD/AP Approved
12/01/2017 - Card in Production
12/05/2017 - Received Approval Notice in the Mail
12/06//2017 - Card Mailed (Priority Mail) to Me

The Army doesn't have supervisors. They don't issue stuff like that, only for the service member. I'll just have to wait.

update on my case: on Friday I called and spoke to a tier 2 officer, when I mention to her all of my SR's were never assigned she told me shell have a supervisor contact me in 24-48 hours. I don't know how true this is, I called on Friday and hoping to get a call back today or tomorrow hopefully since they weren't open on Saturday or Sunday.

That sounds promising! Let us know what the supervisor says. I think I'll try to get connected to a supervisor tomorrow.

Huh, I have not talked to a supervisor on the phone before, is it easy the access to them? Can you just request to speak to one or just certain instances? First try tomorrow? Good luck! 🍀

First try. I'm nervous about it because I don't want to offend the Tier 2 person by asking for their supervisor.

Please let us know what the supervisor say! A tier 2 contacted a supervisor for me as well but I haven't heard anything. Its been over a week.

So my friends, I wanted to update y'all that we finally received our RFIE from USCIS. My husband's birth certificate was translated from Arabic to English, apparently it is not in the correct format. Therefore, USCIS is asking us to re-translate it and send a copy of the original to them. I find that odd because I paid $60 dollars to get it translated by a professional translator. I was not content to get this letter, yet I am thankful that it is not something major and a simple fix. I will probably send the paperwork tomorrow via express mail. The letter also states that they will make the final decision after they receive this information. So we will see what happens from there. No work permit still lol :D Prayers for everyone :)
