Sorry to hear that. Did you make an appointment USING AN INFORPASS at your Uscis local office? I know that it maybe doesnt work out but you should try everything you can.

Please keep me in the loop if you hear any updates. My husbands status has "Ready to be scheduled since October 2017" But his medical expired in January 2018 I believe. I hope when the interview comes, he doesnt have an RFE for the approval.

Please keep me posted as well! I am a September filer, but I started getting ready in August, so I've been lurking and posting here more. You hopefully will get your interview before me.

But how can people that filled in September and even November getting approved??  Don't they go through the applications in the order they received them?

Lol that's what they say ...but in practice it doesn't look like it's happening...Of course there are some reasons, like background check and RFE...but waiting almost 200days to get the actual RFIE/RFE really makes no sense.

Congress has been so helpful to us as well. We are a military family, so I am surprised that USCIS doesn't want to help us at all. Like I wrote earlier, they say that my case is within normal process time and that they are working with cases from May right now. Which cant be true as several already have had their interview. It even says on the website that the i485 cases filed in July were approved in December.....  Sorry for going over and over again.

Just make sure you make the difference between I485 and the others (work and travel visa), the I485 can take up to two years from marriage. It depends on your field office, but also on when it is sent to said field office (when NBC is done reviewing your case and background check comes back).

I don't quite understand and I don't have a lot of information as far as the I485...I have been ready to be scheduled for interview since October and nothing...but my field office (Las Vegas) says they are interviewing applicants who filed for I485 on or before 02/27/17...They are over a year away...

Everyone - should I open another SR or expedite on my AP now that my RFIE response has been received? I'm not sure  if it will slow down the process - because maybe it'll just get approved on its own now. We're approaching 200 days. I really need the AP urgently!!!

The tier 2 officer said my last AP expedite was probably not looked at (even though I faxed them info) because of the 485 RFIE (even if they hadn't send it to me....).

@Aviinashh, I wonder if the only reason your EAD was approved so quickly after the RFIE response was received is because your congressperson was on your case... ours hasn't responded at all :(

Have you tried calling your congressperson's office? You can also go to their office and talk to them I believe. That's how it is in California, I assume it would be the same in New York as they both are very immigrant friendly states.

So if you response was received on the Feb 14, I would wait until mid, maybe next friday and see what happens from there. If you dont hear anything, maybe call again and look what is the current status of your response. I dont think they will release the EAD/AP if the response wasnt analyzed yet.

Hey Guys! Called back and spoke to a Tier 2 Officer today. They said my case is 181 days old and 1 day over the normal processing times. She put in an inquiry for me. Lets see where this takes us...

180 days is normal processing times? And so are 75 days and 90 days? They really know how to confuse people..

Sorry for butting in, November filer here.

Has anyone here that filed in August, received their interview date?

I have seen a few November and even December filers who already received interview dates. But the AOS interview is supposedly depending on your state and how busy the local offices are. So some get their interview set up super quick. I saw one who got her status "ready to be scheduled for interview" in July, and interview appointment was made in December and the actual interview was set up in this March. Her state is one of the busiest(New Jersey or New York I think it was).

Sigh... it's gonna be so nice not have to deal with them for 2 years once EAD and AOS is done and approved.

Doesn't a background check take a few days only? If an RFE was the problem they would have sent it by now?

Depends, I have read stories of background check taking months...And I guess not for the RFE/RFIE, @Aviinashh received one and same with @Hamilton after months. It's stupid that it takes so long, but it happens...
