Day 188 (PD August 4)

 

they never corrected my mispelled name on i485 (going on for months...) 

 

they never gave me any EAD :(

 

and now they just cancelled our interview scheduled for next week... 

 

no words :/ 

 

i truly understand the suffering of some of us here. Believe me, you’re not alone. 

Timeline (From B2 visa to AOS)


July 15, 2016 -> Got married
August 3, 2017 -> Mailed AOS packet (I-130, I-485, I-765)
August 4, 2017 -> Package received
August 14, 2017 -> NOA for I-130 and I-485 (not I-765... called multiple times to ask about this but was told to wait)
August 25, 2017 -> NOA for Biometrics Appt (I-485)
August 30, 2017 -> Sent email asking to look for I-765 (My I-765 was LOST)
September 8, 2017 -> Biometrics Appt for I-485
September 26, 2017 -> Received email from USCIS I-765 found and PD August 4
October, 2017 -> NOA for I-765 and Tier 2 officer cancelled 2nd biometrics

November 3, 2017 -> Raised SR online for I-765

December 11, 2017 -> SR showed as "completed" by the assigned officer

January 8, 2018 -> Name was updated 

January 18, 2018 -> interview scheduled

October 12, 2021: Interview Scheduled for November 8, 2021

November 8, 2021: Permanent Green Card Approved!

 

Timeline (From J-1 visa to Adjustment of Status):

 

Juy 3rd 2017 - Got Married!

July 8th 2017 - Mailed AOS packet

July 11th 2017 - PD

August 14th 2017 - Biometrics Appt (for I-485)

August 21th 2017 - Biometrics (for I-765)

August 24th 2017 - Updated online for Case Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

October 16th 2017 - Advance Parole Approved (after 100 days)

October 20th 2017 - Received Advance Parole in the mail

November 16th 2017 - 'New Card Is Being Produced' (after 108 days)

November 25th 2017 - Received EAD in the mail

 

August 16th, 2018 - Status Changed to "Interview Was Scheduled"

August 25th, 2018 - Interview Scheduled For September 25, 2018

September 25th, 2018 - Green Card Approved at Interview

October 3rd, 2018 - Received Green Card In The Mail

@Aviinashh I'm so happy to see you finally have your EAD approved, hope it's arrived and you can look forward to the next step now. :)

 

@GoodVibesOnly So sorry to see your interview was cancelled, was a reason given? :( Hopefully they can reschedule for you soon. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to meet so many roadblocks on the way. Edit: I see above that it was unforeseen circumstances..so frustrating.

It seems that Uscis sometimes issues “interview cancelation notices” by mistake. The recommended thing to do is to go to the original interview anyways. I have read that some people AOS got DENIED after ‘missing’ their cancelled interview (I know it sounds rather silly).

 

I would advise to go to the original interview if anyone else here receives that cancellation notice.

It could have got cancelled due to various reasons. Hope they schedule it soon and you are right it's better to go on the actual scheduled(cancelled) date because from what we have seen USCIS has its own ways of working.

raised 4 srs, 1 of them got assigned in december saying that case is pending and they are processing applications in order wich they are received, contacted ombudsman they said they contacted uscis in January and they will get back to me when they receive a response, talked with a tier 2 officer today she said that they touched my case yesterday and that I should call back if I don't get anything in 30 days, contacted congressman they haven't responded to me yet. idk what more should i do 😥
