AHHHH CONGRATS! It's good to see you again, man. Also guess what? I just got an RFIE even later than you!!!

When did they receive your RFIE response? It would be good to know how long I have to wait after I send in my response....

Firstly, I would like to thank you and everyone who helped me and secondly, I missed coming here...I mean I was in such a bad mood that I didn't want to come here and give wrong advice to people.

My response to RFIE via USPS reached NBC last Friday which is January 26th and yesterday my status for I-485 changed to "Request to USCIS Request For Initial Evidence Was Received" and this afternoon status for I-765 changed to "New Card Is Been Produced"

Since the processing time went wayyyyy beyond the normal times so I guess as soon as they received my documents they approved my EAD. I am sure they will do the same with your case :)

Oh wow, how come it took over a month for them to get your response? Didn't you send it back like Dec 21?

And I figured you stayed away to keep some sanity. I'm glad you're back though :)

Hey folks that have filed a Service Request! Did you get an immediate email that CONFIRMS your request?

I didn't get anything after i called there regarding my  EAD but the lady on the phone had difficulties getting my email written down even though i perfectly spelled it to her several times. She said i should contact them again if i dont get a response in the next 30 days and gave me a case number. Can i use this number to check the process of my SR or is it just a reference for future inquiries?

I did a SR 11-26-17 they responded 01-19-17 that I should receive a decision shortly and yesterday they approved my EAD, I think my congresswoman helped a lot. Hope you get yours soon.

The RFIE was regarding Affidavit of Support and i had to do a lot of paperwork to get the right documents and also i was waiting for a co-sponsor to provide me with their documents so it took a lot of time

Oh, I see!  I thought USPS just lost your stuff for a while -- can you imagine if that happened?!

I actually had to send my passport via USPS Express mail recently and it was delayed... I discovered that apparently there are lots of issues with USPS losing Express documents...

No, the passport was for a visa for a different country. So I will probably send my RFIE response via FedEx... lol. Still haven't received the letter in the mail though.

Did your RFIE specifically ask for a cosponsor, or did you just get one just in case?

I'm so glad I joined this group cause I'm learning from all, we are like a family,  I wouldn't have an idea that to contact a congressperson will help on my journey.

It said I did not meet the 125% of the Poverty Guidelines and asked me to send more evidence. The income did meet 125% but I was concerned about the documents which I have already sent before so I had made the documents ready to send for RFIE but then I thought no no no i dont wanna take any chance so I did contact one of my friend to be a co-sponsor. The RFIE did say that I can go for a co-sponsor instead. It did take me a while to convince my friend to be a co-sponsor and after he agreed he did take some time to provide me with all the documents. Do you know when the RFIE mail was sent ?

Man, that sounds like a huge headache. It sucks that you had to do that despite meeting the 125%.

Yeah, the RFIE was sent on Monday. So I'm hoping I get it by tomorrow - Saturday latest. Their mail takes ages to get delivered. Wish they'd switch to email. It's 2018 guys!!
