Day 146 Update: We've been in touch with the USCIS Ombudsman. Yesterday afternoon and this morning, my husband was given 3 different locations as to where his paperwork was, and when it would be processed. He was also hung up on by a T2 officer's supervisor who said there's nothing they can do to help him.

The Ombudsman said USCIS is legally required to provide an answer within 90 days, and it is now her responsibility to move the case forward.

Wow. Sorry that happened to you guys.

I might contact the ombudsman too -- what do you mean by "within 90 days"? 90 days since an SR? Filing? Expedite requests?

Within 90 days of filing! Apparently USCIS operates under the assumption people don't actually know that.

We've already heard back from the follow up. She said we will have a decision within 10 days (down from 45).

Give it a try! He filed the inquiry this morning around 9 and heard back at 1.

Really? But then why doesn't everybody on VJ do that? This sounds too promising to be real. Did you just fill out a form at https://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

Yep. You have to have a record of failed inquires with the CS hotline.

I googled it, and it seems the Ombudsman doesn't have a high success rate, but the article I read also suggested DHS keeps it that way so that the service isn't overused.

Called USCIS, and they said that the response to my AP expedite request is something like "while we understand your situation is serious, there are extreme delays" and then have asked me to send even more information showing that it's a true emergency (rather than denying it flat out). But I don't think I have anything they'll deem an emergency  :(

Yes! We've been told it's being processed in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Missouri. Who knows...

Yes, and I do help others in the correct places on the forum. If everyone posted everywhere with no sense of order, it would be really hard to keep track of anything. It would actually make following any progress (e.g. different months) impossible.

Agreed. Let's try to keep the forum organized.

From my side, I've been waiting for an EAD update for 170 days. I already have an EAD based on OPT (F1 visa) which expires in May, so I haven't made any expedite requests yet. That being said I feel a little bit worried about the delay. Talked to two T2 officers and I can't say that they were helpful.

169 days here, and I've been thinking I might give it 30 more days because constantly worrying about it is wearing me out. It seems much more uncommon for people to be waiting over 200 days (over 7 months), so hopefully by then we'll hear something. The longest I've seen on this forum seems to be 8 months, which would still mean you'd get it in time for May. I'm in a similar boat; I need it by April.
