I did a live chat on USCIS website to check for any update on my case, as my case has been "case to be scheduled for an interview" since October, and they said that the Chicago office is still working on cases from January 2017. Does that mean it can take another 6 months to reach August filers?

Mine was supposed to be Chicago too but apparently it's St. Louis now, St. Louis office is one month behind Chicago office (processing cases from December 2016) on the processing times but my online status updated yesterday (at night) that the interview has been scheduled for February. I really don't know how that bulletin works, one T2 officer told me once (last year) that they usually mix the employment based visa times there as well for the field centers (not i765) and that's why the waiting time is like that. But I'm not one to really tell if that's accurate.

Timeline (From B2 visa to AOS)

July 15, 2016 -> Got married
August 3, 2017 -> Mailed AOS packet (I-130, I-485, I-765)
August 4, 2017 -> Package received
August 14, 2017 -> NOA for I-130 and I-485 (not I-765... called multiple times to ask about this but was told to wait)
August 25, 2017 -> NOA for Biometrics Appt (I-485)
August 30, 2017 -> Sent email asking to look for I-765 (My I-765 was LOST)
September 8, 2017 -> Biometrics Appt for I-485
September 26, 2017 -> Received email from USCIS I-765 found and PD August 4
October, 2017 -> NOA for I-765 and Tier 2 officer cancelled 2nd biometrics

November 3, 2017 -> Raised SR online for I-765

December 11, 2017 -> SR showed as "completed" by the assigned officer

January 8, 2018 -> Name was updated

January 18, 2018 -> interview scheduled

How can I talk to a T2 officer?

Well you can usually just request to directly speak to one when you call customer service (and what they do, if you get transferred, is to call you back in a couple of hours, the T2 officer is the one calling back) although they have become more difficult to reach lately, we've read some experiences here where the T1 officer doesn't want to transfer. My case had many mistakes (i765 lost, typo on name) that no T1 officer could help me (hint: they don't have access to personal information) so the only help was a T2 officer for me. It depends on what T1 officer answers to you too because some T2 officers will just be like 'okay no problem I will transfer' and others will want to know more about your case (if it's too difficult for them they'll transfer, if just general information they'll probably want to help on their own) or why do you want a T2 officer and that they can maybe help you, etc. It's random but you can certainly try, I don't think they have a record of the times we call. But yes you can express that you are worried that no mail has come and you don't want to miss an appointment. Good luck!👍

Still waiting... (Currently on day 157 of waiting) I did not apply for a work permit since my DACA is good till August 2018.

PD August 18, 2017. Last thing I got was fingerprint fee received. I've had friends who are in the same circumstances and their cases were complete within 170 days.

Biometrics - Sept 14, 2017

Hi all,

Still can’t believe on the day 163 my EAD status changed to “card is being produced”!

Does anybody know how much time it takes to print the card and deliver it?

Also, before the status was changed we made 3 SR and only the last one was assigned to the processing and only after we contacted the local congressman.

No updates regarding AP and AOS...

Glad to read that people are already attending interviews!

we haven't because thankfully all expired EAD are now automatically extended 180 days from expiry along with the NOA of a renewal application so there employers are satisfied with that.. We are more concerned with the fact that AOS still has not been approved... PD is September of 2016!

Congrats! I'm guessing it'll be a combo card. Do you think the Congressperson is the reason it moved along? Did they say that they did actually contact USCIS?

So an effort to keep hope alive:

The official USCIS processing time says that as of Oct 31, they were processing June cases. So 2-3 months later, they should now be on August cases. If we actually believe the official processing time, that might explain why some of these Aug filers are finally hearing about their cases. We're the last few cases in August that they forgot about, but now need to get through before they can update their tracker.

...okay I know the official processing time is a lie.
