I have done every single thing possible. I don't think I'm to blame here for any inaction on my part - I'm just one of the arbitrarily unfortunate ones.

Have you found out from what date yours is being reviewed? I was told by an officer that they have 30 days from when it is under review. I was told that mine went under review Dec. 14 and at just about 30 days I get news. Someone in the July filers group posted that their under review date was Dec. 12 and they got theirs just a few days before me.

Not that there’s anything you can actually DO but at least you know about how much longer you’ll be waiting.

The expedite review was started (and completed) on Jan 03. The Tier 2 officer recommended I put in an expedite for my AP, even though it doesn't seem like my need to travel qualifies under USCIS's idea of an emergency (urgent work travel). But since he said it was the only thing left to do, I said okay. So I just got the request for information in the mail and will send back something immediately. But it's pretty clear they'll reject the need for expediting, and then I'm worried I'll be even further behind the queue....

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well. I wanted to update on my InfoPass appointment. I went today to ask why my approved I-131 has not been delivered (I received approval notice on Nov 29, 2017) and was told that the post office could not deliver it and NBC does not currently have it. The immigration officer told me it means I will have to apply for I-131 again, basically starting the whole process over again.

I'm really upset because I have made all arrangements for wedding and travel in late March, and it looks like it might not happen. But it's ok - I guess some time life does not go the way you want it and there are things out of your control. Therefore I will focus on other aspects of my life.

On a side note, I asked about my I-485, which has been in "case ready to be scheduled for an interview" since September 26 and was told that "the case is almost ready to be picked up". The officer said that online status is one thing, but what it means is that my case is ready to be picked up by the local field office. For Chicago, he said that it could be another 1-2 months, which is consistent which what I heard that the Chicago field office usually schedules interviews within 4-5 months. Hope this information is useful for some of you Chicago filers! Good luck everyone!

Aug 22 AOS package (I-485, I-130, I-131) sent to Chicago lockbox

Aug 23 Delivered

Aug 30 Email/text receipts of 3

Sep 2 NOA for I-130 only

WOW, I'm sorry that happened to you. That's really unbelievable. When you submit the new app, perhaps you could immediately request an expedite as well? One of the few conditions to request an expedite is specifically "USCIS error" - so IN THEORY they should speed that app along. In reality, perhaps they just won't admit the error...

Hi everyone

That's really horrible that you didn't do anything wrong on your application and they lost it after approval somewhere in the process. I'm sure you already tried this but what does the post office say? Surely it has to be somewhere... i know of 2 cases where both the EAD/AP and greencard came exactly 2 months / 60 days later from approval date on mail. They never knew why this happened and no one (post office & uscis) knew where they were. And they told them the same thing they told you. Maybe it's a similar and strange situation. You might check your mail on January 29, hopefully it arrives.

Where did you hear about Chicago doing interviews within 4-5 months? :o I always thought it was 7-9 months and that was what it said online when I first filed (super early August filer here with initial I-765 both lost and found by uscis, name typo by uscis on I-485, no ead or interview coming, nothing) and when I called back then to ask a T2 officer they also said it is usually 8-9 months for Chicago. Before I filed I knew the Chicago office was one of the busiest (not outside the 10-month-wait

though like other offices) from what I've read here and on inmihelp. But you know, there can always be super fast cases here and there I guess that are an exception to the rule.

I don't understand why he told you to file again though. It *shouldn't* be like that... I've also read that some people file for theft/Mail Fraud with the federal inspector agency but not sure you want to look into this just yet.

I really hope for you guys to be able to travel on March. This whole experience can be very frustrating and energy draining. All the best for you.

Timeline (From B2 visa to AOS)

July 15, 2016 -> Got married
August 3, 2017 -> Mailed AOS packet (I-130, I-485, I-765)
August 4, 2017 -> Package received
August 14, 2017 -> NOA for I-130 and I-485 (not I-765... called multiple times to ask about this but was told to wait)
August 25, 2017 -> NOA for Biometrics Appt (I-485)
August 30, 2017 -> Sent email asking to look for I-765 (My I-765 was LOST)
September 8, 2017 -> Biometrics Appt for I-485
September 26, 2017 -> Received email from USCIS I-765 found and PD August 4
October, 2017 -> NOA for I-765 and Tier 2 officer cancelled 2nd biometrics

November 3, 2017 -> Raised SR online for I-765

December 11, 2017 -> SR showed as "completed" by the assigned officer

January 8, 2018 -> Name was updated

January 18, 2018 -> interview scheduled

I think I will do that. We will request an expedite based on financial loss because we plan this 8 months in advance and have spent over 10K in expenses for our wedding and travel outside the US.

If you search on Google, many websites by Chicago lawyers will say that the average time to schedule interviews is 4-5 months. I have had friends whose timelines also fall within that range. But of course, this is an average - there are people with shorter and longer wait times. I wish your case will move forward sooner rather than later!

I know that USCIS sent my card but the post office did not deliver it. I have had trouble receiving mails at my address. I don't understand the post office - they sometimes deliver my mails and sometimes do not deliver my mails. Like I received my biometrics appointment and I-131 approval notice but not my receipt notices and the actual I-131 card. I saw that it was coming in the mail (through informed delivery) but did not find it in my mailbox. My last name is different from that of my spouse and nonwhite-sounding so I feel like the mailman/woman just decided that "nah, this is wrong, I don't want to deliver this mail to this person, who probably does not live here". But duh, I have lived here for a year and have received many mails/packages here...

Thank you guys for being such a helpful group! I know I can count on having someone to commiserate with during these times! Best wishes for all of you!

I'm sure this is just another bit of junk mail, but I logged into Informed Delivery and got this exasperating message. I'm traveling so I can't see what it is for a week!!!

There is a mailpiece for which we do not currently have an image that is included in Today's mail.

Hi guys, how are you all?

I hope all is well for everyone! For the past two months I wasn't able to read and post here at the forum but for a wonderful reason: our baby arrived! :) Everything is great but I'm super busy with our precious baby boy!

Meanwhile, I got my combo card in November and till this Wednesday (01/10) the case status online for my I-485 was the same as September (my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview).

For my (bad) surprise, yesterday (01/12) when I checked online the message was:

Case Was Updated To Show That No One Appeared for In-Person Processing

Saying that we missed an appointment on the 11th. The fact is: we haven't received any letter with appointment NOR the status online was showing that there was an appointment scheduled for the 11th. It was with that old message from September saying the our case was ready to be schedule for an interview.

Do you guys know what we should do? This is not fair. :( Why they haven't send the mail or updated the website telling us that we have the appointment??? Does this happened to anyone of you guys???

Thank you so much and blessings for 2018 to everyone!!! :)

August 10, 2017: AOS package sent

August 11, 2017: AOS package received at USCIC

August 18, 2017: Checks cashed

August 20, 2017: Text messages and e-mails

August 26, 2017: NOA hard copies

September 1, 2017: Biometrics letter received

September 15, 2017: Biometrics done

Make an Infopass ASAP!! Take your papers with you and maybe even a statement from someone at your post office stating the appointment letter was never delivered.

It means exactly what it says and this has happened to quite a lot of other people .

You got an appointment ( if letter was send out or not or lost who knows, only infopass or level two officer on the hotline can tell)

Because you didnt attend it for whatever reason your application is currently abandoned and you should get an infopass ASAP . Just walk in there very early in the morning and tell them its an emergency . Also inquiring on the hotline is an option to see whats going on but that doesent mean you dont go to infopass thats a must . Now is time to act contact congressman asap also tell them no correspondance wax receivec they can make things happen . Dont sit around wait see what happens because you will receive a denial of your AOS soon if you do that.

Its not end of the world your case can be reopened but you need to make those things happen like TOMORROW morning .

Good luck
