Not sure what to make of our latest case updates:

- 11/30 expedite request was completed

- 12/14 service request and general inquiry were both assigned to an officer (these were broken up on separate entries online)

- 12/14 response to service request and general inquiry were both sent (these were broken up on separate entries online)

- 12/14 service request and general inquiry were both completed (these were broken up on separate entries online)

I didn't even notice that the expedite was completed on 11/30 but I haven't heard any news either way.  Curious as to what these responses to my service request and general inquiry are (i only filed an SR, not sure what general inquiry is, maybe from the congressman?).  I wish the responses would just show on the online system.

Has anyone had this happen?  Did good news follow?

I think the 'general inquiry' might be for the i-485. My 485 has a "general inquiry" pending that hasn't been assigned yet. But like GoodVibesOnly said, it looks like sometimes these work, and sometimes they mean nothing.

At least you got a timeframe. And it is progress, someone is making clicks.

The email I received said this "The status of this service request is: Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly."

"shortly" and no news until now

Well add me to the list of people expecting news "shortly" - Just talked to a T2 officer who read my expedite request response letters to me. The letters say they tried to contact us by phone (not a single missed call here!) and that we would get a response shortly. It's like at this point I don't even need them to expedite it, I just need them to process it within a reasonable timeframe!

Trying to stay positive but it is hard...

Also, if my expedite request was completed on 11/30 then why just today (which also happens to be the day after my congressman's office contacted them) are they sending this letter saying they tried to call me and that a decision will be made shortly???? grrrrrrr

15/08/2017 AOS/EAD sent

17/08/2017 Package received

23/08/2017 NOA1 date

31/08/2017 NOA1 received in mail

01/09/2017 Biometrics letter arrived (appointment 15/09/2017)

06/09/2017 Walk-in Biometrics

01/11/2017 Online SR filed

27/11/2017 Expedite filed on EAD

07/12/2017 Congressman Schiff contacted

14/12/2017 EAD under review (according to T2 call on 26/12)

26/12/2017 Expedite marked as completed, response being sent

09/01/2018 EAD card production notice via email

Well then its time to get one 😁. Usually when you get a state id you get a temporary id on a paper to carry around which will be good. I am pretty sure EAD replacement is the same price as the application so around 400-500 . Your call

Oook thanks appreciate the information

Good morning everyone.  Just wanted to update you on our progress.  My husband had his green card interview yesterday morning and was approved! :D

The interview process was very short and simple.  Our appointment was at 8:30.  We arrived at 8:15 and went through security and were directed to the waiting room.  We were called back for the interview a few minutes before 8:30 by a very kind older lady.  She swore us in and then proceeded to go through our application to verify our names, addresses, etc.  She then asked me if I had an attorney put our packet together to which I told her "no, I assembled it myself".  She said that normally only attorney offices include 3 copies of everything and that it is not really needed for the AOS. (essentially, you only need one copy of the requested documents for all three applications, AOS/EAD/AP... Oh well, better safe than sorry).  She then went through the questions with my husband in the application (have you ever tried to traffic drugs, overthrow the US government, etc) and checked them off as she went.  From there she asked us to tell her how we met so we explained that while she jotted down some notes.  After this we showed her some picture books from when we were dating and from our wedding ceremony.  We brought around 8 but she only looked at 2.  We told her who people in the pictures were but other than that she didn't really ask any questions about them.  The only other "question" she asked was "Tell me something to make me feel warm and fuzzy about your relationship".  My husband and I just used this opportunity to talk about how we bonded over facetime relationship for a year before we physically met and how we have been adjusting to married life with him in the states.  We also talked about his relationship with my daughter and how he has adjusted very well to the parenting role he has taken on.  Then she asked us to supply any additional evidence that we had to show a bonafida relationship.  We gave her bank statements, health insurance information, car insurance information, life insurance information, receipts from the DMV from my name change and getting his license, and our booking agreement for our ceremony and reception in 2018.  She stated that we had way more than she expected from being married for 4 months and that she appreciated us bringing all of it.  After that she stated that she was going to run a final background check and that she saw nothing to indicate that we were not a happy in love couple and would be approving him.  He should get his approval notice in the mail in 1-2 business days and his green card should arrive in 4-6 weeks.

We are very pleased with the how the process and interview went and look forward to getting him working and not having to file paperwork for the next 2 years!  Haha.  Just wanted to share our experience for anyone who may have their interview coming up.  Good luck to those still waiting.  Fingers crossed for quick approvals for all!

Congratulations 👍🏼🙂.

Update!

I received my EAD on Friday the 15th. However, there is no celebration yet until everyone here either gets their EAD or GC.

Meanwhile, the online status is still shows "case received". I encourage people to be hopeful, if you don't see any update online, just know that something good is happening behind closed doors. Happy Sunday
