USCIS have different processing times for various visa categories.

For K-1 visa applicants, the process is usually very fast for applicants in this category. The entire process from date of filing of the petition to the time the green card is issued can take at least four to six months. I have seen few cases that took 8 months, 1 year or more. This could be due to complications with filings from the onset. Other reasons could be due to high volume of visa petitions at that particular center or the kind of USCIS personnel handling the case (this is a general problem with all categories). Interviews are generally waived for applicants in this category.

For a B1/B2 and other visa categories.

If you are married to a US citizen, and filed a Form I-130 petition, concurrently with your Form I-485 application to adjust status along with your Form I-765, application for initial work authorization. Normal processing time of your case is probably going to be more than 6 months from filing to adjudication. If all goes well, both you and your US citizen spouse will be requested to appear for a joint interview at the local USCIS office. But applicants in these categories sometimes complain of delays and errors from USCIS. Even if you overstayed your visa, the fact that you are married to a USC completely overrules that part.

The bottom line is do not panic if you haven't heard from them. Know the visa category you belong and be familiar with the time frame. Your time will definitely come and petition adjudicated and approved. Most importantly, make sure you pray regularly about your petition; prayer works and God answers.

Just a word of encouragement and not legally binding..

How long the "more than 6 months" usually will be for B1/B2 AOS? is it 6-9months? 9-12 months? BTW thanks for the information. That's very helpful :)

Sometimes, a little bit less or more than 6 months. I know of a couple who got theirs in 5 months. There was another one for 7 months and there are people who filed in December 2016 and got their cards in July and August 2017. Meanwhile, there are some who applied in December 2016 and are still waiting to be interviewed till this date. Give or take, you should be looking at 7 months max, simply because the process seems to be moving at a steady pace for August 2017 filers. I strongly believe you will be fine, just have faith.

Yes my PD is August 16th and my biometric appointment was on August 26th, 2017 but I couldn't make it  because of Hurricane Harvey. I called USCIS and the officer said USCIS is aware and that I'll be rescheduled.

This is very good. Its only a matter of time and now its your time. Expect your biometric appointment very soon. Sometimes they send the biometric letter soon after NOAs have been delivered.

So the biometric appointment was  scheduled for next week but we went today to the Phoenix AZ office and got them done no one asked why we were there early three just processed my husband. Also they allowed cell phones just had a sign saying you can't use them. We are happy he was able to come early even though the sign says by appointment only.  Also you will go through security the same deal as airport security including removing your shoes

Filed I-485, I-130, I-765, & I-131 priority date August 9, 2017 spousal AOS
