Update from Congressman's office

"""""Hey Aviinashh,

Great news! U.S.C.I.S. has agreed to expedite your EAD petition! This means you will receive a notice shortly on a decision. Once received, it usually takes the actual card 7-10 business days to be delivered. Some employers (I’m unsure about XXXXX) will accept the approval notice as proof of employability.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, or if you do not receive the card/decision in a timely manner, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks!"""""

Well, waiting game continues...

So contact them again? Because you sure aren't getting your card in a timely manner -_-

na don't be disappointed. Am on122nd day and still nothing but I know something good is going to happen very soon. To your question my answer is yes. Hope your interview comes after July 15 2018 and you will receive a 10 year GC and anything before that date then you will have to wait another 2 years for ROC but looking at the way USCIS is working am sure AOS interview is going to be late.

I thought that if you were with your spouse for more than 2 years at the time of interview/gc reception the ROC part was removed already...

I feel like I am going to be very unlucky as a September filer...I am almost at 90 days...and well nothing, but I have been ready to be scheduled for interview since October 27st...so my background and stuff is done, but my EAD/AP got lost somewhere. I know I am within deadlines, but so many people after me are already starting to see some stuff, I'm starting to lose my cool...I was in that boat for K1, and hoping this would go smoother...

Very true what I am thinking is the T2 just looked at biometrics done and said the generic response. Same when I went to info pass really . I would call again and specifically ask that how do I have that status if my background checks are still pending ... But really it doesn't matter. They wont be able to speed anything up ... Sometimes I think about too, spousal visa would have maybe been a better choice in terms of money and everything .

Is the spousal the one where you get married first?

I had a friend do this and she has been waiting for almost 2 years now...She's from Canada they got married March 16th 2016...The worst part is she is in Canada and not allowed into the US and he is here if he wants to make more money to finance everything.

Thank you for contacting the USPS® Internet Customer Care Center.

Make sure you are using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox when accessing the USPS website. Google Chrome and other internet browsers tend to have problems on the USPS website for users. You also need to make sure you are using the latest version of the internet browser.

I think you don't see packages until you actually have one coming... That is what I experienced.

No blankets needed down here in AZ we are in the mid 70s and nice cool nights and blue skies everyday. Endless summer :)But I do remember the winter from Germany and I feel your pain. I do miss the fire in the living room and stuff like that. Hope you get better.

Oh yes here in Arizona the best season of year is Winter really nice weather love it  😊.

Yes you get married first and apply in your home country. BIG benefits are you can continue your career/life and interview is informal quick and painless only one person (the petitioner) has to be there.

I have heard that spousal visas applied for in canada take forever because obviously of the close proximity and load of applications . In Germany I have multiple people that went through it and some got it in 6 months to a year . Never longer then a year.

The downside is the wait but lots of people in AOS have to wait a year too .

Its done and dusted now for us here but I was just thinking out loud.

I do know that while CR1 is in process you CAN visit. You have to be ready for good amount of proof that you have a life in the home country but especially as a canadian shouldn't be an issue what so ever because of the close border and inter border communities etc..

I guess +/-, I went with the K1 because of my friend's experience and my personal situation (they wouldn't have allowed me in the US, no house, just finished university, so no career... Annoying not to be able to start one yet, but at least I am finally with my love, I would have gone crazy if I had to be separated for as long as my friend has been :s . Glad to hear it's not the case for everybody though :)

When you say "Hope to get EAD this week" is that based on your approval notice you received? did you receive any confirmation of approval?

"Then again you could always file a Congressional" - Could you explain what that means? Inquiry?

Glad to help. Anyway, a "Congressional Inquiry" or "congressional" is a formal inquiry by a member of Congress made on behalf of their constituent. Any federal agency that receives a Congressional inquiry has 48 hours to respond to the member of Congress. Each Service Center has a special office to handle "Congressionals". That's their sole purpose in life is to keep the member of Congress informed upon request.

I meant we all get the EAD this week, as a wish hahah

I am waiting for 103 days and I didn't even receive the approval.

I read some posts of you guys getting emails from a congressman.

I already submitted an e-request through the website almost a month ago, and I didn't received an answer.

I called USCIS and they cant help.

I was just wondering if there is any other way to contact them.

Thanks!!!
