No thats absolutely false . You can not apply for SSN without the card in hand . Do not confuse your situation as a former student with anyone here . What you are referring to is an SSN you get only as a student . Please refrain from just making blank statements like that . Wait lines at SSS can be hours

Thank you, i came in with B2 visa and it's was expired few months ago. I think I will just wait till I get my EAD card..

As a K1 visa holder,  yes you can apply...now being a B2 is something completely different. K1 are allowed to apply for SSN before getting EAD. A lot of people were saying they were going to do it, did it and so on. I wasn't a former student, You should refrain from making such blank statements as you say.

Yes student or K1. But you assume everyone is K1 here I had a quick check at the timeline...

Received two approval notices today AP and EAD. Hopefully the card will come soon in the mail.

Congrats. You should have the combo card in your hand within a week.

What?! How on earth did I️ miss this very active August filer forum?! 

 

Anyhow, waiting on EAD, expedite was filed last week. Sent them the requested proof... I️ literally check my email all through the night and wee hours of the morning. 

 

Is is anyone else AOS from VWP? Just want to compare timelines/develop conspiracy theories about what’s going on with our cases 🙃.
