@PR&PR that I dont know.....I`m trying to figure it out if we can have a tracking number from USCIS on the EAD card. I would like to know if they mailed it and if so, where it is. Does anyone know or have seen other posts where people got a tracking number.

It would be amazing, but I have little faith ...they can't even keep up with an online system, no way they manage to email us a tracking number, or get one for that purpose lol.

this is what approval notices look like in informed delivery . you can see the arm holding the torch from the statue of liberty😄

Checking my informed delivery I am getting my SSN card today , applied on the 12/01/17

I just want to update, I got 2 mails from USCIS today, one is approval for EAD&AP combo, another one is AP approval . Status online is stuck to "case was received". Total time from NoA1 is 104 days. I never asked for SR and I was about to contact my senator. Thank God I didn't have to do that.

I have a question to you guys , can I apply for SSN just with EAD approval letter? Maybe @mustang85635 know? Did you apply with real EAD or just the letter. Thank you in advance.

You can actually apply for SSN, but it won't be valid for work. Then when you get your card you can change it. At this point you might as well wait...

If your card is already mailed, yes there is a tracking number, but you would have to call USCIS to get that number.

I know right, I have never asked for their supervisor before - i am thinking that their is a chain of command that needs to be followed, and I don't want to give  the impression that Teir 2 Officers' don't know much either.    At this point I think our files are sitting on The Main Adjudicator's desk (Supervisor) waiting to be signed off.

That's what I think because when a case gets expedited then the cases are given to a supervisor or someone with similar designation and once he/she verifies offer letter or any other document that falls under expedition cases then the supervisor approves it.

@PR&PR I'm sorry, I don't get what you mean by "it won't be valid for work". What won't be valid for work? The SSN that we get if we apply just with EAD approval letter? I know that we can't work without EAD card and company will need our SSN to pay the salary. I just want to apply for the SSN ASAP since this EAD is way longer that I expected (90days). And I will be out of the city for holiday.

SSN cards for K1 and other immigrants will have "Valid for work with authorization of DHS" print on your SSN card. Once you receive your EAD you can still use the same SSN for employment. If you want to remove the "Note" from your SSN you can  re-do the SSN card once you get your green card.

That's right, all expedite cases that are completed has to be approved by a supervisor. So can you imagine how many files are on the assigned supervisor's desk to be approved...

The social security  card won't be valid for work, but at least you will have a number already assigned ...but at this point I am not sure you will be saving a lit of time. Your EAD is approved, so you will get your card in about a week or so and then SSN takes about 2 weeks normally ...If you apply now, you will get your card in two weeks and then when you get your EAD you will need to wait for your card and go back to the SSN office to get a new card. Which would take about a week ...It is quicker to get the card changed than applying for a new number. Would have been worth doing months ago, but now, no points really...and if your K1 is expired I'm not sure they will let you apply for it anyway. I think I read you need to do it within 30 days of entering, but I am not 100% sure. I had mine from back when I came on a work visa, it will be the same, I just gotta have it changed when I get the work authorization.
