Haha I've had this same thought about mine being that I'm living in a state that is supposedly anti-immigrants

Did you contact them anyway? I know for a fact that my county congressman is really anti-immigrant so we aren't calling them. I'm sure the state senators are too busy for this stuff, though of course the NY senators are liberal...

I can relate to you I got a number of job offers within the past 2 months - there is even one that I actually went through the whole orientation process - just to find out it's not what they say it was LOL - I got the job offer letter through them which I sent to USCIS seems useless because it's past 32 days and I didnt hear back from them regarding expedite lol.  I am not use to sitting down and not working this is hard.  I must agree with you there are so many people that are ready to work and cant do so until, it's crazy - but hang in there this is all we can do.

You are confusing a couple of things all together and mixing them.

So no they WILL NOT look at anything before they haven't received the FBI Name Check and Fingerprint Check which is required for all benefits that are a year or longer and all EAD and Green Card applications.

There will never be an approval without those, multiple level two and info pass told me this .

Also I dont know where you got those two to six weeks from. According to USCIS and FBI for 60 percent is done in 72 hours. 30 percent is completed in 30-60 days .When I went to my Infopass because I wanted to travel soon the officer told me that after 60 days my check is not cleared.

I am from non risk country and never been in touch with the law. The officer told me its because they have hundred of thousands of citizenship applications pending in background check from last year that makes the backlog.

I also said its not the only reason for the delay another one could be lazy IO who only does the minimum amount of work required. They do not get paid by case but by the hour.

Now to the background check you are referring to at the interview. This is initiated by the IO at the field office when you appear for the interview. Its a name check before the green card is granted. It can come back immediately or take a few minutes, hours or days. Its another check which has nothing to do with the one that was initiated after the application has been received .

Hope this clarifies things

Thanks for sharing this information, we learn as we go along:)

Haha yeah, someone somewhere is doing something!  I did a search and it seems varied in terms of what people get when their SR's get updated like this.  Could be a letter/email saying, "We're still reviewing your case" or the combo card will be approved and sent.

How long did you have to wait from the time you sent your first SR and then second SR to finally getting a response?

Dates are in my signature.  First SR was almost a month and a half ago online through their "case inquiry" page.  Second one was just this past Tuesday.  The second one was done by a Tier 2 rep from the hotline.  The receipt number starts with "WKD" and he told me it's a different kind of SR since he's a Tier 2 rep and we did it over the phone.  When he did it, he said I should receive an answer within 3-10 days.
