Yeah that's weird, when I faxed my AP expedite info, it went through on the first try...

 

You had posted earlier in this thread saying you sent USCIS a response to the RFIE on Dec 21 - did you send them two sets of responses?

Yes, first I sent the response to the documents I was asked to send. One good thing I did was to photocopy the RFIE document that i received in the mail. Then in the first week of January I happened to speak to a attorney and she suggested some changes and asked me to gather new evidence and write a detailed letter and explain and ask consider them to accept this package instead of the one you had already sent in December. That's exactly what I did. She was aware of all the documents I sent in December and said there's a big chance of denial so i had to act fast and get a co-sponsor and attach the photocopied RFIE document and re-send everything my wife had to re-do her I-864 form. Honestly, I did take a very big risk but it did work !

How come there was a big chance of denial if you met >125 %?

Well I was doing some research and it seems that a lot of people get RFIE's even though they make enough money. For some people, it's because their income over the past 2-3 years is a little inconsistent. This is especially true for people who are creative professionals or freelancers or self-employed. I don't know the details of @Aviinashh's RFIE but USCIS really wants to make sure we are all financially stable and won't become public charges. Some people get the RFIE because maybe their income is too close to the 125% number. But some people have gotten it even when they have a much higher salary too and usually they just didn't fill the paperwork correctly or didn't provide the right tax papers. Basically, there are a lot of reasons USCIS sends out RFIE's even when the couple has enough money.

My issue was with the household income. We were concerned about adding Survivors Benefits to the household income. According to the law you can add it and we sent those documents but then later I found a co-sponsor because I didnt want to take a risk. I would recommend anyone who receives a RFE or RFIE to take a photocopy of the notice because you will have to send the original notice with the documents requested.

Can anyone say what happens after you have a status “case is ready to be scheduled for the interview”? 

How fast they actually schedule it? 

Should the status change online or there will be only paper mail?

You AOS Application is normally at your local office and once they are ready to schedule your interview you will receive an letter and maybe your online status will change.

 

An letter from your local USCIS Office is for sure. You just have to wait.

As most of you might already know, I am an August filer, My lawyer has concurrently filed for me i360 (special immigrant juvenile based) and both i485 and i765, thing is I am a bit concerned as it's been over 182 days, and I saw in some posts that uscis has to determine whether to approve i360 then issue EAD card and then wait for i485 for interview is this correct?

Also how long is it taking for i360(SIJ) form to be adjudicated?

Honestly, I personally haven't come across someone who has filed for I-360 and so I will wait for someone experienced to assist you but since you have said it has been over I would advise you to contact your local congressman/woman to enquire about your application. Myself and a lot of people have done that and the results have been positive. My file moved forward only after I contacted my local congressman. Hope that works

Update: Received approval notices for I-765 and I-131 in the mail today.

 

I had called USCIS to get the tracking number and also I wanted to ask the officer if I have to notify USCIS if I change employers. In the approval notice it says "If you are I-140 or I-485 is pending then you will have to notify USCIS and send documents related to the new employer". But the officer said since my I-485 is based on a marriage to a US citizen so I don't have to worry about that and I can work for any company I want and no need to notify USCIS at all. 

 

So I guess that was for employment based green card applications but still I wanted to clear my doubt and hope that helps anyone who might have the same question.
