Greetings everyone,

This is my first time her on VJ. A friend of mine recommended this to me as it has good resources and advice from people who have been through their K1 journey before. With the help of VJ, I have compiled a list of all the documents that are needed to be sent to USCIS. I have everything in a folder and ready to be sent. I just want to make sure I have everything ready and in order before I send it. So far I have:

(1) Payment to USCIS

(2) Cover Letter

3) Copy of my US birth certificate and all passport pages

4) I129F form (with one passport size photo of my fiance and I attached)

(5) Letter of Intent (signed and dated)

(6) Proof of having met in last 2 years:
- Flight itineraries
- Hotel receipts
- Passport stamps
- Visa of countries I entered
- Colored pictures of my fiance and I (12 pictures total)

(7) Proof of ongoing relationship:
- Chat logs
- Phone calls

Is there anything else that I am missing?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Technically the proof of ongoing relationship isn't required until embassy stage but many ppl still send it. It won't hurt. I noticed you wrote letter of intent, make sure that is letterS - one from petitioner and one from beneficiary, signed and dated. Make sure anything not in English is translated. Otherwise looks good. Good luck :)

#3: This is really an either-or. The requirement is proof that you are a USC. A copy of the birth certificate satisfies this if you obtained citizenship by birth. Another way to show this is via every page of your US passport. It's not an issue to send both in their entirety, though.

#4: You should have 1 US passport style photo of you, and 1 US passport style of your fiance. When reading your post, I didn't know if you meant that or you had 1 passport style photo with both of you.

#5) You each should provide a signed letter of intent to marry. I have seen people use 1 letter from both people with success, but the "tried and true" method of 1 letter from each would be the safest option. And a letter from only 1 party will probably result in an RFE.

#6) Just wanted to say that this looks pretty good. :)

#7) Not explicitly required (USCIS won't review it), but it's assumed that some COs may review your case beforehand and this can help.

How did you first contact each other? How did you first meet? They may request evidence that you did not meet through an IMB.

I'm assuming neither of you has been married before, and you don't have a criminal history to disclose for Part 3 of the I-129F.

Thank you for your response! We've met when he was in the states back in 2015. When he left we stayed in contact with one another. Unfortunately, we do not have any proof of us meeting when he was in the states. We did not take any pictures of ourselves together or anything like that at the time. So on question 34(a), when it asks about the circumstances of us meeting, I just put the 6 occasions where we met, the dates, and the location.

And no, neither have been married and no criminal history.
