I will be doing a K1/K2 visa app in the coming months. I was reviewing the I-129F form, and it asks if I've ever filed on behalf of anybody else. I did so about 25 years ago (a K1 visa at the time). Have no idea what the A-number was that was associated with that app, or the exact date. How would I find this information out?

Well, to answer my own question on where to obtain an old A-number from a previous filing, here's what USCIS says:

Since the ex-wife went on to become a US Citizen, she would have received a Naturalization Certificate at that time. The A number should be on that certificate.

Otherwise, in a case such as mine (where the original filing was done so long ago (1993), they told me I would need to file a Freedom of Information act request with USCIS. I guess they basically go into old archives to find this info. They told me it could take months, and would cost about $25.
