We didn't even do anything except exchange rings and let our parents know because I already told my parents why I was going to egypt and he asked his parents and both our parents just wants to know if we're serious, besides asking us why we r far apart, only promise to marry and not married and could we really be so far apart from each other and not going to each other because our parents don't believe that we have to wait so long until now for the embassy, but we keep reminding them we r waiting for the embassy still. I can't believe the CO ask your fiancee about a big party, it is only an engagement not even a wedding reception. Besides some people prefer a laid back engagement or wedding and I much would rather spend the money we have to save for better things in the future when we r together such as decorating our home together how we want, going to a luxury honeymoon, traveling america together, babies etc. Depends on what the couple agreed to do anyways -_-' I am doing the same with my Congressmen or checking out what of help they can do if any.

I think they take long on purpose so people give up since now they don't want people to come to the US thanks to Mr. Trump.

How do they think people will give up? We invest so much money on everything and as long as we follow and have given everything we were told, keep your hopes up and be strong. There is no denial without a very good reason and no holding it forever without a reason either.

there are people that get tired of being a part for a long time and they end up braking up. there are cases that was sent back here and the reasons were never told to the petitioner.

Couples just need to be strong and wait if they r really meant to be together they will wait for each other I believe and agreeing to go separate ways are also up to the couple. As far as cases sent back with no reasons? Do u know people with cases that was sent back without reasons?

I was just reading about a case that was returned and the letter stated that "This petition is sent back to USCIS as the beneficiary failed to convince the CO with sufficient evidence that establishes a required and valid relationship"

From cairo embassy? Also every case is different so we need to keep that in thought of that so it won't bring us down. Besides at the interview, I don't think they really look at anything we brought them at all they looked at some photos and info that went to them from the USCIS that was it, how much more proof do we need? Traveling is expensive and how do u travel so much to see someone u r engaged too only? Unless u can afford it then u can't go every year or earlier as much as we want to, but it still all common sense lol

Does anyone from Egypt even get their K1 visas anymore? Or is this thread just for those that haven't gotten yet?

Good question, I would like to know who recently got their k1 visa from us embassy cairo too, but I guess nobody would be here if they already gotten their k1 visa lol there is much more work to do after they get their k1 visa anyways so they will be too busy to come here. But how about your case?

I realized a very interesting trend and I may be wrong. Egyptian nationals who are engaged to American citizens who are not of Egyptian descent, have been getting approved. Even with an age difference, different religions and so on.

However, those who are engaged to dual citizens who are Egyptian/American are being put on AP.

Anyone here have a different background. It looks like all of you on AP are both Egyptian descent and are of the same religion. as your fiance?

At the interview did any of the COs ask to see your social media page? Like to show that on your FB it says you're engaged or that you have lots of pictures together on Instagram? (just curious)

not in our case.

Yasser.

We arent on AP, we have our interview coming up soon. We got the family and individual registry.

But in your case, the beneficiary is a female? in my case, he is the man?

My fiance and I are trying to read and learn from all of your experiences before his interview. He got all the docs you all mentioned. He also printed our our entire viber call log, 40+ pages. And screened shot a ton of convos between us, us and each other's family members.

We didnt have a formal engagement party but did exchange rings and have pictures and receipts for all that.

I think they will ask this at POE not during the interview.

Plus what if they dont have social media accounts?

yes. my thoughts to you is to provide as much evidence as you can in the day of the interview and you guys should practice the interview questions, the CO want to see that he knows EVERYTHING about you. we printed over 300 pages viber calls but didn't take screen shots.

But is the CO really gonna read over 300 pages? That's the Egyptian way of thinking... work hard not smart

it depends, I heard in some cases they did go over everything, so no privacy :).
