well , they never tell you the reasons

at the end of march 2017 i got a call from the embassy asking for my passport , new medical and police certificate , and when i asked if our case was approved , the was yes, i submitted the required documents , but nothing happened since that time , just one last update on CEAC website when they got the documents,in that update the case became non immigrant instead of immigrant and case creation date changed and became same as case last update date 12 April

and since that day we are stuck , inquiries , lawyers and even congressman office couldn't do any thing to help or even to give us any idea about what is going on

for your last question , my answer is yes , there were some cases on AP forum that took more than a year and then they got approved , so Good Luck for all of us

I'm sorry for what you going through I can imagine how you feel. I just don't get it, if they told you you are approved and the case created date and last update date match and your case  changed from immigrant to none, why they didn't issue the visa and what's taken too long.

No, my passport expiry date was 29 Dec 2017 ,and you need your passport to be valid for at least 6 months to be able to travel, so in September i sent them an email , reminding them of my passport expiry date and asking them if i can renew it now and send them the new passport, so i can avoid any travelling problems in the future , they answered saying that they will send me my passport to renew it , and i should keep it with me til they require it again

so my passport is currently with me
