A manifesto by a Google employee arguing against programmes to promote race and gender diversity and calling instead for an increase in “ideological diversity” has sparked a furious backlash.

The 10-page document, apparently written by a senior software engineer at the company, was initially circulated within Google but has since been aired on social media.

The manifesto argues that the lack of women in tech and leadership is, at least in part, down to different traits between men and women.

“I’m simply stating that the distribution of preferences and abilities of men and women differ in part due to biological causes and that these differences may explain why we don’t see equal representation of women in tech and leadership,” the author writes.

The manifesto also claims that men have a higher drive for status, that women might not like coding as they have a greater interest than men in “people and aesthetics”, and that the low number of women in “high stress jobs” is down to them having more “neuroticism”.

“We need to stop assuming that gender gaps imply sexism,” the author writes.

Google’s perceived political leanings also came under fire, with the author arguing that those with conservative views currently have to “stay in the closet” to dodge open hostility.

“When it comes to diversity and inclusion, Google’s left bias has created a politically correct monoculture that maintains its hold by shaming dissenters into silence,” the author writes, adding that “conservatives tend to be higher in conscientiousness, which is required for much of the drudgery and maintenance work characteristic of a mature company”.

I've got no problem with this, it would contribute to Google's obsolescence.

Hence why Google has relied far more on acquisitions than in-house development. That "monoculture" bleeds ingenuity dry. Ripens other business to come in and supplant the company.

I will say, when I worked there, Google advocated far more variety in opinion, which I personally valued. I guess that's gone to the wayside but that's become the status quo, which as mentioned opens the door for those less alienating to take their place.

Companies like Kelloggs and others have learned that this path is stupid and hurts the bottom line. Better hope Uncle Sam bails them out.

Google Employee Decries ‘Ideological Echo Chamber’ In Internal Memo

An anonymous Google employee reportedly wrote a critical memo about the tech giant’s diversity initiatives and “ideological echo chamber,” and the document was circulated throughout the company’s ranks.

The document, first reported by Motherboard and obtained by Gizmodo, is a 10-page critique of not only the diversity programs at the tech giant but the very need for those programs.

A male software specialist at the company sent out the memo — entitled, “Google’s Ideological Echo Chamber” — internally to other employees who have viewed the document en-masse.

The author flatly denies that women make up a smaller percentage of high-tech workers because of some innate sexism in the industry; rather, he says basic psychological variances account for the gap.

“We need to stop assuming that gender gaps imply sexism,” he wrote, adding, “Discrimination to reach equal representation is unfair, divisive, and bad for business.”

White House gender pay gap more than triples under Trump

The pay gap between male and female White House staffers has more than tripled in the first year of the Trump administration, according to an analysis by economist Mark Perry of the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.

The median female White House employee is drawing a salary of $72,650 in 2017, compared to the median male salary of $115,000. “The typical female staffer in Trump's White House earns 63.2 cents per $1 earned by a typical male staffer,” Perry writes.

The 37 percent gender pay gap in President Trump's White House is more than double the 17 percent gender pay gap nationally. According to the Pew Research center, the Trump White House gender gap is wider than the national gender pay gap stood in 1980.

So Female staffers doing the same role are being paid significantly less that make staffers doing the same role?

Thought not.

Apparently every staffer must be paid the same regardless of their job, their experience, pay grade, their value to the business, etc.

It drives me.

Whewie, the leftist rage today is quite the entertainment:

SJW Backlash Against Google Staffer: ‘I Would Beat The Sh*t Out Of Him’

Left-wing backlash against the Google employee who published a manifesto calling for more ideological tolerance at the company intensified this evening, as SJWs inside and outside Google sought to contain political dissent at the company.

The Googler’s 10-page manifesto criticized the company for maintaining an atmosphere of political groupthink, in which employees with viewpoints that challenge leftist narratives are forced to keep their mouths shut for fear of losing their jobs. He also criticized Google for ignoring the latest research on gender differences and their interplay with the lack of women in STEM jobs.

The allegations of political intolerance come shortly after YouTube, a Google-owned platform, announced they would manipulate search results, artificially promote socially progressive videos, and censor non-rulebreaking content that is considered “potential hate speech.” The company is also partnering with the ADL and other left-wing organizations to identify “hate speech” on the platform.

His main thesis — that political dissenters at Google face severe threats to their career — was immediately confirmed by the backlash against him, which included threats to his job and at least one threat of violence.

I'd recommend reading all the image screencaps within. If the corporate response to dissenting view is to make threats against someone and declare you won't work with them, well, from experience, I can say that's something that will implode the company. As a publicly traded corporation (through Alphabet), its not gonna make investors happy, thats for sure.

You would think that Warren Buffets secretary would benefit more from his investing acumen than from a salary, then she would pay less in taxes.
