Dear all,

It's been almost 2 years for me living in the USA now and it's time to apply for the I-751 to remove the conditions on my green card. I did consult an attorney and he wanted to charge me $2000 for this service that might not take one hour of his time. However, I now decided to do it myself and I need some help from you guys. I have been reading about this online for a while and it seems a little tricky, one thing I need to know is about the fees. Can I combine the fees $595 and $85 and send it in one check for a total of $680? If I want to pay using a credit card, how do I do this?

Another thing, as far as evidence is concerned, we almost have everything to prove that we are a happily married couple. Can you please advise if the following pieces of evidence are enough? We have shared utility bills (Gas and garbage), car insurance cards with both of our names on it, joint savings bank account, life insurance policy certifying that my spouse is the sole beneficiary, my wife has the same thing for me as well, I have added her to my credit card but she's only a user and a statement won't show her name on it but I still can get a paper from the bank to prove that she's an account user, is this necessary or not? We have also been on a few vacations and we have a lot of pictures, flight tickets and hotel reservations that we can present. Can anyone please advise how many pictures do I need to send? I also have 3 affidavits from 3 different people that know us in person and have been out with us on several occasions. I remembered something, Do I need to send anything that I have already sent before, for example, our marriage certificate or pictures or anything that was previously sent to the USCIS?

I would appreciate it if anyone who has some good experience with this to walk me through the proper steps and make things easier for me. I honestly don't have an extra $2000 to give to an attorney if I can do it myself.

Thank you my friends and I hope to hear from you soon!

Best wishes,

Khalid

Yes, it's 680$. And you pay with money order or check.

Your evidence looks good so far. Remember to include statements spanning the entire marriage and not just recent copies. Consider getting wills and/or medical power of attorney (these are good for life too!). What about rental agreement (lease) or mortgage? Can you add her to your 401K or other retirement/investment plan? Save the $2,000.00 unless there are major problems with your case and that does not appear to be so. OH! Send photocopies of both credit cards showing that she has the same number as you do. That's what we did. Good luck.
