My fiance and I are applying for the K1 visa, but we're a long way off from the interview. Asking for anyone who may know details on the Ankara consulate: I know the USC isn't allowed at the interview, but does anyone have any experience with them still being present and simply bringing in their passport or something similar? Does it make a difference at all?

According to the embassy info page on here, the member who updated it suggested that the US petitioner e-mail the embassy in advance asking if it's possible for the US petitioner to be present. Previously other US petitioners only succeeded at entry due to such e-mail.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

As far as I know, US petitioners are not allowed to inside the Embassy. Embassy sent me an e-mail for reminder one week before interview, and in e-mail it states  "U.S. citizen petitioners are not required to attend the interview, and will not be allowed to inside the Embassy at the time of the visa interview." I brought photocopies of the passports and citizenship certificate of my fiance, but they didn't ask at all.

Thanks for your response! Do you happen to know whether it's an easy or hard embassy to go through? I'm just worrying a lot and trying to do anything and everything to help my fiancé :\

My interview was very smooth, just some simple questions. You can also read consulate reviews.
