Dental Discount Cards

I am looking at dental insurance plans, but they are pointless, in my area anyway. $35-50 a month for only $1000 max yearly benefit after the $150 family deductible, of course. Then they barely cover anything as it is. Pointless.

I have started looking at dental discount cards. The cards claim between 15-60% discounts. They also sold together with other discounted services like vision, chiropractor, fitness clubs, prescription drugs. There are a lot of providers in my area that take them. Seems ok for $9-$18 a month.

Has anyone actually used these? What was your experience with them?

i have. last summer i had some major dental issues and no insurance...

so my dentist told me about a program that you pay $80 or whatever to join...just a yearly fee. and for that year you get 50% off all your dental visits and procedures.

and it was true. it saved me thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars.

definitely better than insurance. not sure why anyone even has insurance when it barely covers anything (i guess if you are lucky enough to have perfect teeth)

look into it!
