Good day to everyone

I'm gonna worried as I have my interview in less than 3 weeks and my husband affidavit of support along with his Civil documents hasn't arrived yet.

My plight is I don't know if I should reschedule the interview or if I should still go and if they would allow me to dhl the package later

Three weeks is a long time, most international mail takes 2 weeks or less, what makes you think it won;t arrive in time?

Question: I would like to ask if its okay to present a photocopy of AOS of my petitioner? my petitioner and immigration lawyer just printed 1 signed copy and that copy was sent to NVC. I just got from my mother the photocopied document to be presented to the us embassy for interview

Why wasn't the documents sent via dhl or fedex that would have guarantee tracking and also home delivery. These are things that must be taken as urgent. Regular post just doesn't cut it.

Have your husband redo the affidavit of support and copies of civil documents and use dhl or fedex to overnight documents to you. If you go to interview without them you will for sure be put in administrative processing which can take a day to years. It is not worth the risk.

Overnight the documents asap.

I think original ink signature is required for AOS. Have them redo and mail to you. Please use a courier service.

I've read somewhere here in visa journey that once the petitioner submitted original signed AOS to NVC, you can have a photocopy to be presented in the interview since the papers sumbittted by the petitioner to the NVC will be mailed to the us embassy prior to the interview and these papers will be opened by the CO in front of you during the interview.

Well go ahead and submit copies. Things get lost in files hence wht so many RFE. I philosophy better safe than sorry. But that's just me anyways.

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/news/ink-signature-no-longer-required-on-affidavits-of-support.html

Inked signatures are still required for USCIS (i.e. for the AOS interview) or at the embassy.

@geowrian

**this is off topic.. we couldnt message you.**

It's been a while my fiancee and I have signed back in here. Congrats on your visa approval! We are just curious about the questions and how the interview was at the embassy. Some say it's in a room with the consulate, others say it's just a window. My fiancee is worried that the embassy wont let me in because there are government offices in the Philippines where they only allow the person who has a transaction to get in. Also, we want to know if you also answered some questions or was asked by the consulate since you went with her. Wishing to hear about your experience. :-)

Update.

I got the package 📦 a few days after posting this. I went to my visa interview with everything and they didn’t ask for anything but my birth certificate and my marriage certificate so I really didn’t need the AOS

Got my visa and in a 2 weeks I came to the US.

Got my social security card in 9 days now just waiting on my 10 year green card.

Thank you all
