Hello @AdnanS you can apply for the passport as soon as you get the naturalization certificate ( same-day/next day). You are only able to get the same day passport however if you are travelling within 2 weeks internationally

Thanks! I'll go with wife today to the post office. :)

I had my oath ceremony on the Tuesday and was flying internationally on Friday. I went to Chicago passport office ( make an early appointment you can do this 2 weeks prior) on Thursday and got my same day passport. You pick it up later that day.

Seems like a 6 month wait between applying and recieving a notice about the interview and a 7 month wait between applying and the actual interview for Chicago filers. 3 more months to go for me:)

Also if anyone here has experience applying a day earlier than your eligibility date let me know how that went? It looks like I applied 2 hours earlier than the date I was eligible so my priority date is set one day before the recieved date which has the correct date I was eligible.

I've found a couple people here on visa journey who naturalized without an issue, one that recieved a pink letter during an interview that they might have applied too early and another that got denied. Seeing as I'm 4 months in the process I think I'm going to risk seeing until the interview date if I'm rejected or not. Seems like it's dependant on the adjudication office and officer

I applied 3 days before, last July and I scheduled an infopass and was informed that I had to withdrawal my application because it would be denied. So I did it...and reapplied in September. But it was 3 days, not just one, so Idk...

Hello,

My interview was scheduled for April and I can see the appointment notice online and recently I got the USPS informed delivery email with a picture from the USCIS envelope but it hasn't been delivered yet and I am starting to freak out. So the TLDR is: can you go to the appointment just with the print out from the notice posted on the website?

Thank you!!

Yeah I think I'll risk it... Because the recieved date is correct on the letter, just the priority date is set one day before. I found some cases of people getting approved. Some denied. 4 months in I think I can wait a bit more.

Did you apply paper or online?

Yes. The letter online is exactly the same as the one in the mail.
