Hello everyone,

Its been almost 5 months since I applied for my N400 application. Can you please share from your personal experience, how long did you guys wait for the interview from the day you applied? I am already freaking out..

Thank you

My mother applied 5 months ago also.  The wait time appears to be anywhere from 6 - 9 months, so you're ok.

I applied in November and had my interview the following June. Oath ceremony in September. Longest two month wait ever lol. So your mother should hear something fairly soon.

Ok, So strange.... I just checked on egov and she got her interview scheduled today.  Her priority date is 10/2/18.  We don't see the letter in her account yet though.

Seems like a 6 month wait between applying and recieving a notice about the interview and a 7 month wait between applying and the actual interview for Chicago filers. 3 more months to go for me:)

Also if anyone here has experience applying a day earlier than your eligibility date let me know how that went? It looks like I applied 2 hours earlier than the date I was eligible so my priority date is set one day before the recieved date which has the correct date I was eligible.

I've found a couple people here on visa journey who naturalized without an issue, one that recieved a pink letter during an interview that they might have applied too early and another that got denied. Seeing as I'm 4 months in the process I think I'm going to risk seeing until the interview date if I'm rejected or not. Seems like it's dependant on the adjudication office and officer

Question for those who took their Oath's, can you apply for the passport the next day at the post office? Our Chicago Office only takes appointments with proof of travel tickets within 2 weeks. I know for Social Security it's a 10 day wait they said.

Can anyone confirm the passport side of things.

Hello @AdnanS you can apply for the passport as soon as you get the naturalization certificate ( same-day/next day). You are only able to get the same day passport however if you are travelling within 2 weeks internationally
