Chicago N400 filers

Update on my status below:

December 13, 2018 did a walk-in to the scheduled service center, and they did the appointment on the spot. New completion time reads 13 months to February 2020.

What picture goes on the naturalization certificate for online filers? For the oath ceremony they did not ask to bring any picture.

if I'm not mistaken it goes from the biometrics appointment.

Good morning everyone and long time no see!

 

Here is an update to where my wife and me stand.

 

After my wife did N400 interview on 12/4, she received a letter update from the USCIS website on 12/21 which is about 17 days later.

 

In the update, it included the oath ceremony scheduled date for 1/23/19 which is about 19 days from today.

 

So, she is in the last steps to becoming a US citizen.

Does anyone happen to know if the myths of getting US passport same day is true??  So far, I've checked out Chicago Passport Agency and I heard you can schedule an appointment but there's no guaranteee.

 

I've heard others online have been lucky to get a same day passport in Chicago or other cities. I know that there are certain cases which are "life or death emergency" situations you can also get it same day..........

You can get a passport the same day if you have international travel within the next 2 weeks or so, my colleague was able to obtain the same when we visited Egypt last year

hello @himanshu.7710 , the picture being used will be the one taken during your biometrics. Also, do you have to take your spouse along for the N-400 interview ? Do they insist on that or is it a nice to have ?

Hi all, finally I saw in my DHS account that interview was scheduled on February 7th in Chicago. It took 5 months to get interview date. Filing date July 22nd 2018.  Kinda quick. The only thing I won't be in the country on that day. How do I reschedule it? I can't see anything about rescheduling on the notice itself.  ;-(

Isn't that more like 6.5 months ? definitely not 5 months Congrats on the interview though, hopefully you will be done soon

Its 5 and a half months  not bad!
