Well dayyyyum. Just got notice that my oath ceremony has been scheduled. I can’t see yet when or where it is as the letter isn’t uploaded. I am praying it isn’t September 25th as I am In England. If it’s the 21st ceremony it still means changing my flight if I can as I fly out on 23rd....hoping it’s October 12th but doubt it as that’s too far out for the schedule

many of my other Chicago fliers get their update today?!!

I am wondering why I can’t fly to England on my British passport and re enter the US with my naturalization certificate??!! It proves I’m a citizen??!!!

Congratulations! You are almost there

Peachlings I got my oath ceremony scheduled... any news on yours? The letter isn’t uploaded yet so I can’t see which it is but.... 😊

This is wonderful news @kdg! It gives us in the cornfields some hope. Still nothing at my end. I assume you filed online? I filed by paper so my only updates would be via the normal uscis.gov site, or via text/email. Did you get a status update also on that site? Did you receive a text/email notification?

I actually contacted my senator's office yesterday, I am hoping that will speed up the process. If I don't get scheduled for the last oath, October 12, then my application will be well outside the processing time 🙄

Let me know where you get scheduled!

Nope I was a paper filer.  But  I registered an online account just to get updates.

Its actually my worse nightmare as the date I have been given is Peoria on September 25th. I am supposed to fly to England on 23rd. To change my flights to evening of 25th will cost an additional $650!!  Plus of course I would take the risk that even though I will have my certificate of naturalization which according to the USCIS website can be used, the airline might not let me board coming back to the USA .....

my senates office is trying to help me get moved to the Friday ceremony but of course red tape....!!

Maybe your letter is coming... I didn’t interview until June.

Hello @kdg, you can always take your certificate of naturalization and impending travel plans to the US PASSPORT OFFICE and they will give you a passport within 24 hours if you are travelling internationally within 4 weeks

Yes.... but changing my flights from Sunday to the evening of the ceremony doesn’t give me that privilege. I HAVE to be in England on Wednesday afternoon, I missed my brother’s funeral due to the interview and the family are holding a memorial service and scattering if ashes.  If it comes to it I will have to cancel my ceremony which I really don’t want to do and you can only turn down one....

June 19th

Hey, congrats on getting a date for the oath... even though it interferes with your travel plans. Hope you sort it out.

I was hoping to hear something this week too, but nothing. The wait is getting rather tiresome.

I had mine April 10 and still in line 🤣

Isn’t that just crazy??!! How can I get my oath ceremony before you.??    Especially as we only live about 20 miles from each other. Ridiculous system. My contact at the Senators office is now looking into this for everyone. She doesn’t understand the red tape at all and says she won’t let this alone now!

Thanks for looking into this for all of us @kdg! And fingers crossed you get moved to the Friday ceremony. I agree, so much red tape and sometimes no logic at all in the way they process the cases.

Hang in there @bzbee ! I just got scheduled for Peoria on the 25th! :D

@kdg any news on moving your oath to Friday 21st?

Woohoo!! Maybe we will all be at the 25th ceremony!! Good luck @bzbee

No news and I am not going to change now. I had to cancel and rebook my trip (extra $1000 in airfares 😮) for the Friday after and I am going to Chicago on Thursday to get an expedited passport. I couldn’t wait to hear back as so many plans are being made for for trip.

Out of interest  I know we have to be there at 9am but does the ceremony start at 11 - the website says 11 so I am guiessing they just get us there early for paperwork?
