Just had my interview and I passed!

The IO told me I will get my letter in the next week or two for my oath ceremony which will be held in Urbana.

Very straightfoward interview, civics questions first, got the gist 6 correct so no need to go further and then the reading is a sentence followed by the writing of the answer (which she gave me, you don’t need to know the answer)

Then went through questions and done! Actually was out of the building before my actual interview time.

Good luck fellow Chicago filers!!

Congratulations!

What I've seen is that Chicago is the only city in IL that has ceremonies regularly. Other parts of IL have them sporadically.

Yeah fhats what I have seen too...and apparently they can’t change your place of oath taking for at least 45 days and then you can request a change of venue.  Seems like I have a long wait 🙁

yeah you should call USCIS and speak to a lvl 2, from my experience lvl 1officers don't usually have much information.

I called and was told that I would hear something in 90-120 days. Seriously.  I can make an infopass appointment and see if I can get more information.... at this point o am going to wait for 2 weeks as I have my family visiting and then chase things up.  I wish they’d just schedule me in Chicago. The lady at USCIS said that was what was coming up as my location and Urbana was not even showing ?!!

My spouse had the interview on Apr 4th at Chicago (paper filer, Sep 2017). The officer said oath would be scheduled in 4 to 6 weeks, (even mentioned it'd be in the hall across the stairs on the other side of the building). On April 26th got an update "placed in line for oath". Nothing happened since then. Called USCIS twice. First time the agent said total process time is 11 months for Chicago and to wait til August. The second time the lady said to call back if we don't get an oath date 90-days from the interview date. Planning to call again after July 4th as that would be 90-days after the interview.

This is frustrating as Chicago locals are getting oath dates within 10 days of the interview and we've been waiting for over two months. Plus it completely messed up our summer vacation plans. Talked to some friends who went through this in the last two years and they too had similar experiences - had to wait 3 to 4 months after interview for the Oath at Peoria or Urbana.

Totally frustrating.  10 days in Chicago compared to 10 months in any other part of Illinois?!!   I have travel plans in September so really hope that I don't get bumped to the 21st Sept ceremony in Springfield as I fly on the 23rd. Not enough time to get an expedited passport  as it is a Friday afternoon ceremony.

Kind of sucks that you get this far then have to just wait.. and wait... and wait.. when they have oath ceremonies nearly every day in Chicago. :(

The egov one is the generic website that you can just put your receipt number in and it wil give you case status.

The myonline one is specific to you and you would of had to sign up for. It then send you updates via email and also will store all your documents/letters that they send you. So it’s more personalized.  You would need an account and password for this one and each time you log in it will send you via text or email a code to be able to access it. Maybe you never completed setting it up?

Yes thank you..it works. But I actually never received any letter from them since October 2017 except the first letter of accepting my case and the second letter for BIO and those letters I can't find them online just to make sure if they sending me the letters online too or just in mail!! (May be because they are old letters or may be because I created my online account after I received those old letters?
