Congrats @pwhound and @Aneta73

@bzbee it seems like you have been "put in line" for oath. From past Chicago filers it shows about a 4 - 5 week wait before actual oath date is given. You are almost there!!

I think it depends, I literally waited 48 hours from my interview to getting scheduled for oath. the person that was interviewing me said 4-6 weeks but it took 48 hours :)

Hi Fellow Chicago Filers, quick question. I filled my N400 in February of this year (2018) based on the timelines i have been reading i will not get an interview until 2019? Also i filed while my i751 is still pending.

Any filers in here from 2018?

if you do get your interview it won't be until late this year (but I would think the beginning of 2019). did you file by paper or online? from what I read here if you file online it's much faster.

Thanks for the response. I filed paper, but it seems they scanned it in the system as i have an IOE receipt #. Sigh i was hoping i would get through earlier, since i have already been waiting on my 10 year green card for over a year now.

Yes you should they are driving us crazy!!!

Has anyone had issues traveling outside the US with i551 stamp? I am confident i am confident i will be able to get through US Immigration, just not very confident in folks overseas allowing me to board a flight.

I551 is the letter to hold instead of the expired old GC and waiting for the new permanent GC? If this the case then yes you can use this letter to travel abroad, I did it many times while I was waiting for my permanent GC.

Good luck

thanks, I noticed from other filers that it takes about 4 weeks from the interview scheduled notice, the oath timing seems to vary

(my timeline should of course show interview scheduled email date 5/15/2018)

I think I have read of someone having the Oath the same day as the Interview too, probably extremely rare

hey, everyone, i have couple of quick questions about my upcoming oath

1. what should I bring to my oath besides the letter and green card? should I bring passports/approval letter i got at my interview? anything else?

2. the back of my oath letter has a questionnaire I have to fill out. the wording on it is a bit confusing to me. do I have to fill it out at the USCIS office before my oath or can i do it at home before i get there? i want to make sure it's done 100% correctly.

thank you
