I've heard sometimes you get much better results if you ask a higher up on the officer chain, I think they can connect you with a higher up if you ask them. I am not 100% sure on how that works, maybe someone else here can give you more info on that. I don' know if it matters what country you are from and if (hopefully you do) have a clean background that might slow those things down.

I always ask to be transfered to the next level of customer service

When my wife had her Oath I have asked the workers and they told me that it is roughly 1000 people per week (in Chicago). Seems a lot, but I could easily estimate (eyeballing) a number of 100-200 people in the room - I just could not know who is becoming a citizen and who is a family member (as I was).

wow, took a long time for you to go from filing to in line

I did biometrics on 8/15 but I was placed in line only on 9/11, exactly 30 days before my 5th year GC anniversary. It looks like all early filers aren't placed in line until 30 days before their GC anniversary.

I wonder how many people are there for each oath ceremony? Hundreds?

When I went for my interview, there was also an oath ceremony happening, and I counted about 100 people (10 seats per row x 10 rows). There were actual oath candidates, not including family/spectators.

Guys, tonight I received a text message and an email notification that an interview has been scheduled, much to my shock, given I'm a July paper filer! I'll keep you posted!

Congratulations! I noticed in the sept filers someone who was a paper filer also got a interview date for early April.

@ChicagoN400 Hope your oath went well today!

It went very well @Steelers1020! It was just how @Yuliya Lipina and @cupcake123 had described. There were 98 oath takers from 38 countries. Only bummer was there were no volunteers to get us registered to vote, nor there were any flags that are given to new citizens. We did get a welcome message from the President - the moment he came on the screen, there were chuckles and laughter all around the room :D

I am glad to be done with this and I hope all of you go through the process successfully :)

Wish you all good luck!

That's awesome! No clue how they are processing the paperwork sent to them by mail!!

I am a paper filer and my priority date in on Sep 29th. So anxious to get my interview scheduled as I've been in line since Nov 28th, 2017, exactly a month before my 5 year anniversary.

Please keep this thread going with any updates :)

Good luck to everyone!!

I called USCIS today and asked to be transferred to the higher level of customer service and asked the officer for my latest update and he told that my case has been waiting fir the interview schedule since February 28 and i asked her why my case never updated online she said she dont know may be they havent updated yet!! Although i already called them few days ago after February 28 and the officer told me that my case still pending!! i actually dont know what is going on!!!
