I personally know 2 people who filed in October and have their interview scheduled already. I just received another BS message about how they requested my bio scheduled. Good old bureaucracy at its finest!

They responded to your inbox?? They haven't answered me at all yet and I've sent two messages, one yesterday and one January 26th. I swear they act like my husband's case just doesn't exist. This is so frustrating.

They did relatively quickly. It was one of those automated responses tho. I wonder if there's a way to call the field office. I have a bad feeling about this. It seems to me that they waived the bio for all recent fliers but they still want to do ours for some weird reason. I need my citizenship by this summer so I can go home to visit my mom

Some "good" news (I'm desperate at this point). The Chicago N-400 processing time "Receipt date for a case inquiry" moved to October 02, 2019. So, they are working...the date keeps inching up pretty quickly every week.

This guy filed the same day as my husband, and yet nothing here at all! 😵

 

A bunch of people appear to be getting biometrics reuse notices...but nothing for me or @ptsad  @keyuree1 yet....is anyone else still waiting for any sign of biometrics?

Filed in Mid June 2020, received biometrics reuse notice at the end of December. I figured it is probably going to take a year and I was hoping that March filers should be receiving the interview notices by now.. I feel for you, wish you all the best....  And it is probably not a good news for the rest of us down the line...

My wife did biometrics at Waukegan office on January 11th, 2021. She filed in June 2020. From what i understood from USCIS, getting the biometrics notice depends on your local ASC situation. Every office and their work load is different. For us, Waukegan office just came up to about 70% staffing last month and they had a huge backlog. Couple of my friends who live in Bensenville filed in August 2020 and had their biometrics done in September and are interviewing later this month. So, its pretty much depends on luck :-(.

That's a good theory. I know there are multiple ASC's here and it could explain the huge variation in biometrics that we are seeing.

One of the things you can try is reaching out to our IL Senator's office. I did the same for my wife (Reached out to Tammy Duckworth). I am not sure if Senator office's intervention got her the appointment or it was just a coincidence but the biometrics did get scheduled within couple of weeks of my Senator office reaching out to USCIS on our behalf. All my information and theory about ASC is through the Senator office.

Also a good idea. I think the nearest ASC to me is Norridge, IL. Are the ASC's the ones who decide on biometrics reuse or is that the main local office's call?

I think neither of the two. This is done via computerized system at NBC. The case is transferred to local office once the background results are done (My understanding - please dont quote me :-)) I raised a service request via USCIS login (sent email) and my query was referred to NBC stating that its their matter. Then i contacted Senator's office and then they sent a letter on my wife's behalf. USCIS then replied to them and in parallel, we also received appointment notice.

I called USCIS a few weeks ago and the rep told me over the phone to write a letter to the local field office here requesting biometrics reuse. I found that to be very weird, especially because she did not even give us a name or department to address it to, only the generic field office address (101 West Ida B Wells Drive, Chicago, IL 60605.) I was really weirded out by this suggestion as I don't understand how a random unsolicited letter without being addressed to the proper department or person would even get looked at or sent to the right place.

 

I like the idea of contacting the senator's office better. Did you contact them via email, phone or snail mail?
