Ughhhhhhh. How long have you been waiting since you filed?

Filed November 2019.

First appointment March 2020 cancelled due to covid

Second Appointment Novemeber 2020 cancelled 30 minutes before appointment because they could not "locate" my file

Now comes a 3rd cancelation. Probably going to be another 2 months before I get a new date.

That's just incompetent and embarrassing. Way to go USCIS...

As for the new cancellation, it looks like all USCIS offices are closing January 19-20, but why? Is there some reason? I don't get it.

Same. After my last cancelation in november, It took about 4 days to change to interview cancelled and then about a week before I got the newer interview date.

Yeah i have been disappointed by the cancellation, today was the day for my interview. well no i didnt recieve any reschedule letter for the interview. The only thing updated was i we have cancelled your interview due to unforeseen circumstances. They could have just gone through with the interviews but uscis likes to give hard time.

Says the same. At this point there is no reason to pay any mind to it. The letter with the appointment date and time is all that matters for me.

Hello everyone

Wanted to share my experience. I had my interview yesterday.

I got there earlier however they wont let you in until exactly 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Then you go through security check you need to take your shoes off, coat off and anything you brought after that you go to the 2nd floor check in and they give you number. The number wont display on a screen so you need to hear once they will call your number and there are rooms on right and left. My number wasn't called in for about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment and I was out of the room and done with the whole process starting from entry in to the building and the interview within approx. 1 hour.

Right after officer called me in I was fingerprinted and they took the picture right after that I was asked to show my documents state ID, passport and a green card. Then I was asked civics questions right away

- who makes federal laws

- when the president cannot serve who becomes the president

- what are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy

- who is in charge of the executive branch

- federalist papers- name one of the writers

- the supreme law of the land

Right after that I was asked to read from the ipad: When is Columbus day ?

and to write on an ipad : Columbus day is in October

The officer said congratulations you passed :)

After that he asked me random  questions from the application the yes and no and he also asked about my husbands name, how did we meet and when did we meet and when did we marry. He also asked for taxes, pictures, and some other documents that I brought, he looked over and made copies.

He said he is happy with what he got and In the meantime he asked me to check spelling of my name name and to sign that I agree to take the oath and he gave me some paper showing that I passed and I am in line for the oath :)

And that was it.

My status changed right after I left the building to: Oath ceremony will be scheduled

I will let you know once I will get the date

Good luck to all waiting :)

Hm, seems here that the Chicago office is plowing through their backlog. At the beginning of January when I checked, the case inquiry date was May 2019, and now as of today it moved up to September 2019. The estimated wait time also changed, it now says 12.5 Months to 16.5 Months.

A Chicago filer in the May 2020 thread posted that they filed in May 29th, and already got their interview scheduled!  April 1st filer here and I still haven't heard anything since "we've received your case" (basically NOA 1). :(
