I just got a new interview date. Notice date was on 9/16/2020. No email notification which is unusual, luckily I randomly check the website.

The interview will be the last week of October.  I applied early December 2019 and the interview was supposed to be late March, but got canceled.

Same boat here. Can't wait to start seeing new interviews scheduled - versus only re-scheduled interviews.

Hi Everyone,

Applied for N-400 in mid-December 2019. Moved VERY quickly initially and had my interview scheduled for April 2020. Interview got cancelled due to COVID. Just checked my account and have received new interview date! it is November 5. Unfortunately will not be able to vote which is very upsetting to me....but at least I have a date now.

Some guy in the Fb group said that he had interview today in Chicago which was rescheduled from March 15th. He applied in Jan 2020. I am guessing begining of Jan because his biometrics was Jan 15th.

Which facebook group is it? My interview is tomorrow and I'm trying to find some recent experiences people had

Hi everyone!

I shared my timeline earlier, but here's the summary:

- Applied on Nov 23 2019

- Original interview was scheduled for March 24, 2020

- Rescheduled interview date - Oct 5, 2020

Interview experience:

I was very nervous ( just the way I am), but the Officer I had made the whole process feel like a nice conversation. He was very welcoming and kind. I'm so relieved it's done !

The officer walked me into his office, his desk was behind a plastic shield. We had masks on the whole time except for when my picture was taken. He started with the civics, I answered first 6 questions. There was a small stumble on the question about one right of the US citizens. My answer was "to vote", but he wanted to hear "in federal elections" since apparently some states allow PRs to vote on particular matters. ( Take a note of that!)

He then continued going over my personal info, we added my new work place, he corrected some parts of the application I made a mistake in. Then yes and no questions.

I then reviewed the additions and signed.

He recommended my application for approval and said to call if I don't hear back in a few weeks. He said the oath is scheduled by another department, so he doesn't have info on that, but he hoped I will get the ceremony in time to be able to vote.

That's it :) He stressed that I'm not a US citizen yet, but said I should go celebrate with my husband.

Hope I get the final approval soon.

Let me know if you have any questions. I know how stressful it can be, will be happy to share anything I know.

Congrats! Based on the info above, it sounds like Chicago is not doing same day oaths then?

Just to let others know about N-400 updates for Chicago office. USCIS Chicago offices closed March 18, 2020 due to Covid-19

1 day before my spouses interview. Eventually August had interview rescheduled for September 28th, 2020. Was told at interview

approval was recommended and to wait for Oath Ceremony date via mail. Got email update October 7th, 2020 however we must wait for hard copy because document was not posted to my account. Very disappointed that "Estimated Completion Date" was updated to "March 2021".

Does that mean we had to wait 6 months for oath taking in Chicago? I will try to update post when we get letter.

Our timeline for your reference only......

Filed N-400 online    11-15-2019

Biometrics scheduled letter  11/22/2019

Biometrics completed   12/11/2019

Interview letter   2/03/2020

Interview date   3/19/2020

Interview CANCELLED due to COVID-19  3/18/2020 (yes, 1 day before interview!!!!)

New interview date letter   8/18/2020

Interview    9/28/2020  (recommended for approval)

Oath Ceremony letter mailed  10/07/2020

No date yet. Still waiting for letter in mail.

I am sure it will be after the election, and hope it will not drag into 2021........ I will update once we receive date.

Good luck to all!

Hi

my timeline is similar to yours. My interview was rescheduled to be on 9/20.
I have my oath ceremony scheduled for tomorrow :)

I had also applied for name change so it’s a judicial oath ceremony.
Hope this helps!
